Racism at Liberty Will Hurt Recruiting?
Black staffers are quitting in protest at Liberty. Will this affect their recruiting?

Racism at Liberty Will Hurt Recruiting?
First Ive heard of this. Read the article... he was clearly trying to take a snide shot at Northam and not make a racist comment and failed in his language. The racist inquisition might take down a lot of people. Even Joe Biden has made a lot of sketchy comments over his 40+ years in Washington while doing nothing for black people except fight for segregation. Too easy to turn the tables. No idea if Falwell is racist and I don't often agree with his ilk in general (they are pretty nasty toward Catholics), but if he is it isn't due to this comment.

Asia Todd announced her intention to transfer because of the "racial insensitivity of Liberty leadership". She was Liberty's first ever ASUN All-Freshman Team Honoree last season and shot 41.3% from 3.

All other things aside, just examining this one particular situation, does it not seem odd that the person commenting on a racist act committed by someone else is the one that is cancelled, while the one who actually committed the racist act that is being called out is not, in any way, held to account for his ignorance? We live in wild times.

Someone was cancelled?

It's slang for people rejecting or boycotting someone after they have said something wrong or done something wrong.

And in this case, 99% of the people calling out Falwell rejected him long before he made the mask remark.

The backlash at Liberty is not likely just that one instance but several of the past few years showing how Falwell is batshit crazy.

But, they have God and Money, they will be fine.

Agree unfortunately...LU has too much $$ and too many who are willing to overlook, ignore, or actually support JF, Jr.

Off topic but didnt want to create a thread for it....

Anyone know the status of the Portsmouth dude who got leveled by the statue? Apparently his skull was showing, he was convulsing and lots of blood per witnesses.

Also if he dies, do the 4 up top go down for involuntary manslaughter?

Yeah check the news out of Portsmouth. Last night protesters were pulling statues down and one came down on top of someone leveling him. Hit his head/shoulder first and completely took him out. Curt Autry from NBC12 in Richmond posted last night it was life-threatening injuries.

I've seen some comments saying the guy died but I havent been able to confirm those.

Following the AUP, as long as people are cordial, I see no reason to halt the discussion since the thread is a question about athletics.

I will add that this is part of the issue with LU; even if this thread wasn't about Falwell, it would be about Falwell.

Yeah, not so much wondering why people are mad at Falwell as I am wondering why the person who did the actual deed gets off scot free.

He got a ton of backlash at the time when it came out. What would you like to see happen to him?
