a look in at early recruiting.
We know the coronavirus pandemic has shut down most to all normal recruiting activities including elite camps, on campus camps, visits, and a mandated dead period.

In attempts to secure spots, We are seeing more players commit at a staggering rate. from a 247 sports article:
As of May 6, there are 627 committed recruits (class of 2021).
As of May 6 of last year, there were 302 committed recruits (class of 2020).
As of May 6 two years ago, there were 243. (class of 2019)
As of May 6 three years ago, there were 299.

247 sports writer, suggest, we might be heading for an epic season of decommitments in the fall. but the way i see it, we might never know who 2021’s best recruits are. without the chances for these coaches to look up close at the guys, I expect a lot of kids that make major improvements in their senior season to end up in unexpected places. for the betterment of spreading around the talent wealth.

With all that said, some Sun Belt teams have been doing very well for themselves, based on where we are at this time. The top 4 have created early separation and they look good doing it. 1) App St. 2) USA , 3) Arkansas St. , 4) Troy

I think what you're seeing is the early signing day is having coaches recruit earlier and earlier each season trying to gain an edge on everyone else. It needs to go away TBH. It serves no useful purpose. It means you have high school athletes worrying about the recruiting process at the end of their junior years instead of the Fall of their senior seasons when they should be worried about it.

Worried for high school football in certain states. Already talked to a dad (here in NC) who's son is a rising senior QB that is a recruiting prospect. He is already making plans to move to another state just in case NC doesn't have high school football. Which as of right now, is up in the air. Could see a lot of shift with athletes moving from states that are still shut down, to states that are open.

Along those lines, big day for CCU today. Got a ‘21 QB today, two other solid commits, and news that the NCAA approved Gunter (AllConf DE who had portal transferred to NC St, never played, came back) a waiver for immediate eligibility this year.

Man if we don’t get some FB come sept I’ll be fit to be tied. I think we’ll be good in LA but some other states worry me. Hope I’m wrong. I’m wondering what the tipping point would be for schools that can’t/won’t play before it all gets shutdown.

Troy just picked up another big time running back.

Rushed for 1,838 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior against the best teams in the state. Class 7A Back of the Year Finalist.
