before the memory fades,i just wanted to find out where people were and how much fun i had tormenting va tech fans.i was the game and believe it or not,i went on the matt hatfield show and predicted an odu win.i said i could not stand hearing how vt was a whole hemisphere above us and was sure kids playing felt the same way.well,i was sure i had made a fool of myself and when i saw all the vt supporters,i said dear lord,please don't be another unc game lol.i soaked it all in and that was my finest moment as a fan.i tormented my family of techies for 2 weeks.some would not answer phone when i called.hey,finally i thought we belonged.got any stories,love to hear them.

I was broadcasting the Junior World Championships. My comrade Andy Hamilton was out with me that night as I listened/watched via wifi in a small local bar called LOKAL. Andy turned the camera on me as we walked back to the hotel around 1:40 a.m.

That is really a cool story.

At home in central NC keeping up with it online, then went to a concert and kept up with it on my phone. When the score flashed 49-35, I couldn't believe it. I texted a good friend of mine who I knew was attending the Duke game at the same time and he told me how the crowd there reacted in shock after seeing the score posted on their jumbotron. Especially since Duke was going to play VT later that season, Duke lost.

In the stands. First just happy that we crossed the 50 because the game before we never made it past midfield. Then just happy when we scored, cuz atleast we didnt get shut out. As the game went on me, my dad and brother were giving all the VT fans around us crap. The longer it went on and they couldn't pull away from us, the looks on all their faces you could see they were getting nervous. The moment the clock hit zero me and my brother were on the field, it was a madhouse. Definitely a game I'll never forget.

Section 105, my buddy starting feeling sick and left at halftime.... so I soaked in the second half all by my self. Great ODU Football memory!!

Section 118 with a perfect view of Bud Foster losing his s**t each time we had a big play. To think I came within a whisker of selling my tickets to my VT neighbors for a healthy profit.

Watching on TV losing my mind and praying for a defensive stop late in the 4th and then completely being obnoxious on social media to all my friends who are VT alumni

Anyone have a link to watch the odu vs vt 2018 game? I watched it a couple of times on youtube but can't find the vid anymore.

I was at the game and have never ever enjoyed any football game anywhere as much as I did that one. I recorded it, and when we got home I watched it again. I have probably watched it another six or seven times. Then, COX upgraded to CONTOUR, and all of our recorded programs were lost. I swear, I wanted to sue them. I'm sure I would have watched it another ten times by now, especially with being confined pretty much to the house by this infamous pandemic. Sigh!

I have a great story about the game even though I was not there. Had a funeral that day. One of my VT friends came up to me at the funeral and said I’ll bet you $5.00 Tech wins and give you 20 points. My reply was what fun is it for me to win a $5.00 bet if my team gets beat by 19 points? So I said I have a better idea. Give me 25 to 1 odds and I’ll bet $5.00 ODU wins the game outright. So he laughed and said I must be crazy and took the bet. I won $125.00.

I have it recorded and watch it all the time. My wife will say are you watching it again? and my answer is always the same, I can never get enough of it. I love it when the broadcast guy says ODU only has to take a knee, what are they doing and Cox runs over people for about 50 yards and a TD. Beautiful, just beautiful.

I tell you a memory from that evening was before the game started they had the paratroopers bring the game ball,odu or vt,the crowd came together for that,that was AWESOME!!!!

Yankee Stadium upper deck, whoops. Had to pray for extra innings to able to listen to the end of the game.
