I feel like they are overlooking out other CBs. We might not get more than one on the 1st team but I think Coby or Arquon will be on those lists come season's end.

It highlights positions where we need to see improvement from expectations. According to these expectations, we need a lot of improvement in the passing game (QB, OL, TE, WR) and maybe in run defense (linebackers). Here are Positions where we did not get a player mentioned in the top four strings:

Quarterback
1 of the 2 Running Backs
AP (Athletic Player?)
1 of the 2 Wide Receivers
Tight End
3 of the 4 Offensive Linemen
1 of the 4 Defensive Linemen
2 of the 3 Linebackers
1 of the 2 Cornerbacks
Kicker
Kick Returner

92, thanks for posting these. Are you sure these are the final lists? I ask because didn’t see my name mentioned. My 40 time has improved - 4.40.

That’s 4.4 hours, but I’ve been told that is very fast.

Back to the lists...according to Athlon in the American we may play like a LSU level defense and a Virginia level offense.

Our roster is incredible 2-85 but it's going to be hard to win the conference especially in a year we visit UCF unless one of the QBs step up. I don't think we need to have a top 2 QB but that list goes 4 deep, I do think we need our QB to be upper half of the league.

Ridder's numbers last season finished below his rook of the year season across all major stat categories. Did he regress because he's not that good or did injuries and inconsisent pass protection play a role? I know many on here don't like it but running is going to be a part of Ridder's game. He's too good of a natural athlete to not take advantage of that ability. It's why he won the Birmingham Bowl MVP. There's no question his passing has to be better than last season and I believe he will get there. If you parlay that with our defense may end up being the best unit in the league then winning the conference in 2020 becomes very achievable.

Big question for Ridders passing improvement will be how much pressure the running game takes off him. The significantly tougher schedule last year IMO is why he appeared not to improve and possibly regress. With Warren and Thomas leaving the backs rotation won’t be as good, but I expect the Oline to be much improved.

If running continues to be part of his game, then injuries will continue to be part of his game. I agree with you that he needs to run to have a chance to be above average. It's a tough equation to balance.

Bolded, agreed. He takes some risks with his body striving for that extra yard or two where most QB's simply down the ball and live to fight on the next offensive possession.

A guy built like former UK QB Lorenzen could take that punishment but few playing the position can take that over the course of a season. I think Bryant will need to play more downs this year. I think Bryant may have to play more downs this year given UC's history of QB injuries over the course of a season.

I have all the respect in the world for Ridder. If he can stay healthy and complete just a few more passes it will be a special season.

I can't wait to see this defense play. It looks solid top to bottom. This could be on the 2001 Ravens level given this conference. Pure domination. No one scores over 10 points a game!!

I'm concerned about LB but am confident in pretty much every other position group on D.
