ESPN is really thinking outside the box on that App State pick, aren't they?

The Kansas win for CCU was obviously huge but I think a case could be made for us going out to Montana in the playoffs and winning in what some say was one of the coldest games ever played

It makes stuff like this less fun.

So I’ve decided to suggest my personal SECOND best wins. These are purely based on my personal preference and enjoyment of said wins. Also I was in attendance for both.

1. AE goes crazy on Richmond - https://youtu.be/9t31HcoG3ME

It’s hard to explain how crazy that game was and how dominant AE was. He was on a different level and it was an insane win which included felling goalposts

2. Wofford beat down on Halloween - https://youtu.be/kkb8WgRd33w

Best crowd I’ve ever experienced in the Rock. And I stand by that until someone does it better. The hype was wild, especially with it being Halloween night on ESPN (and great fall weather). And we beat Wofford so badly they should have disbanded their program.

The following week we upset Marshall which was our biggest win at that time + it was a big deal for us hosting Marshall in 2003. This was in the early 2000s when Marshall was still the #1 mid major in the nation before Boise State became a G5 powerhouse (even though Utah was probably the top G5 program in those years). Next year we beat Marshall again and we also beat #17 Missouri at home the following week...we had a well coached D since Koenning was our DC and we also had Demarcus Ware...and then we lost to New Mexico St on the road 03-banghead

Agreed. I don't know that our guys beat Kansas, it was just a case of someone had to win. That was an incredibly ugly game.

In contrast, the Montana game or when they beat #1 JMU were far more important in getting the program to where it is today. We haven't had a win at the FBS that grabbed attention like those two.

I'll counter with the following season in 2014 when we dominated a very good Richmond program in the second round! Then, we travel back to the Fargo Dome and give North Dakota State all they wanted, losing 39-32. The Bison would go on to win the national championship and I felt our chance at an FCS crown slip away right when we had tons of momentum to achieve one before moving up a level...

Been there, done that. We had the game in the bag, too...

We were beating NDSU going into the 4th quarter and then the wheels fell off. I still believe that Coastal & NDSU were the two best teams in the FCS in 2014.

Should have beaten Arkansas in 2017 (lost by one).

So yeah, the Kansas game last season.
