TK backed up his recent statement about the State of Illinois having the best High School Basketball in the Midwest by recently offering the following 2 Bigs for the 2021 Class:

Brandon Lieb – 7ft., 225lb Center from Deerfield, IL. - It looks like he reclassified from the 2020 Class to the 2021 Class

Scottie Ebube - 6-9, 235lb. Center from Mundelein, IL – Honorable Mention All State as a Junior

good offers, both of these kids have good potential. Lieb is a 7 footer with good feet and a pretty nice touch on his jump shot. he's starting to fill in his frame and should be a pretty agile and versatile 7 footer with a year or 2 of college conditioning. can use both hands. has MAC, low major and a Tulsa offer.

Ebebe sounds like a kid who could commit early to UT. Comes from an educated family with an emphasis on academics and his head coach says he thinks he has high major potential but is better off finding a good fit than jumping on a bigger name offer. coach k goes hard after guys like this and can really sell the program's academic success and approach to big man development. ebebe is more of an old school big doing most of his work in the paint. he's strong already but not slow. plays for a good suburban team

Brandon Lieb, the slightly under the radar nimble 7 footer UT offered early this month has since blown up. oklahoma offered 5 days later. and a week after that penn, oklahoma state, depaul and utah all offered in 48 hours. lieb suddenly went from a kid with a bunch of decent mid and low major offers - UT, Tulsa, Bucknell, Boston U, etc... to being one of the hottest recruits in the country. yesterday, illinois offered and lieb, who, hence the title of this thread, is from illinois, reportedly committed to The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana today. clearly, coach k and the staff were ahead of the game on the recruiting trail but lieb was too big to hide.

Scottie Ebube verbally committed to Southern Illinois today according to verbalcommits.com. He would have been a nice addition to the Rocket's front court.
