Per this Newsweek article 36 people shot, 9 killed in Chicago over Memorial day weekend.
Other than Darnell Fisher who is listed is one of the fatalities can you name the other eight without researching?
Do their lives matter less or more then see others who passed away that weekend?
Where is the groundswell of protest for this deadliest of Holiday weekends in the last four years?
Was racism less pervasive that Holiday weekend? Less systemic and institutional?
Did you interrupt your memorial day holiday sacrificing your schedule to correct the actions of the perps, extend heartfelt sorrow and comfort to the grieving?
Did you pull the little ones near you to help instruct them regarding this grievance so that it can be corrected in the future?
In short was your reaction to what happened that weekend sufficiently proportional and righteous?
At that time who did you blame for pulling the trigger’s? What evidence do you have to support that?
What? You weren’t aware? Or honestly, its Chicago! It’s what happens, it’s no surprise. Its ongoing!
Besides giving it a passing thought what did you do about it?
What?
You're dealing with the effects of the pandemic. You're unemployed! You're retirement savings have tanked! You've lost loved ones! You're too busy E schooling your children or Grandchildren! You're just trying to hold it together for crying out loud!
I’ll be clear here. I’m not diminishing what happened to George Floyd. I’m simply asking why not for others?
Is it because the numbers have been down the last four years? Was it cause it trending better for 4 full years and overlaying that, you/we can’t stop people with a criminal bent from acting out criminal behavior at every turn?
I’m struggling with the proportionality, inconsistency and apparent disregard for the value of life displayed by those now protesting. Where were they in the midst of that weekend of carnage?
