Couple of thoughts:

First, the University of Georgia education is on display
Second, we now know why Justin Fields was granted immediate eligibility
Third, Kirby Smart has a alot of explaining to do with future recruits and their families

1) Not a Georgia fan in the least but it's still Freedom of Speech
2) His family was so mortified by the comments of one fan in the stands that his sister decided to go to Georgia afterward:

To set the record straight it wasn't just a fan in the stands... It was star senior first baseman Adam Sasser who made the racial slur towards Fields. Now it comes out that Jake Fromm made remarks after the Sasser incident. So one thing is for sure a star Baseball player and a Star football player learned it was ok to make racial slurs during their time in Athens... A real Quality College Education!

Sasser was kicked off the baseball team. While he used the N word, he was asking for Fields to get a chance to play.
Fields was full of bs. His sister isn't scared, but he is??? Give me a break. I have absolutely zero respect for him.
Contrast him with Jacob Eason who had nothing but good things to say about his former team after he transferred to Washington.

You are also being dishonest about what Fromm said. It may be offensive, but it is not a racial slur. You sound just like a CNN anchor. But then I guess at that trade school on North Avenue, you just learn technical skills and not understanding language.04-cheers

"...The conversation, which took place in 2019 and was posted to Twitter early Thursday morning, involved Fromm and a friend discussing guns. Fromm wrote, "But no guns are good. They need to let me get suppressors," before adding, "Just make them very expensive so only elite white people can get them haha....""

Apparently some girl who has known him since Jr. High who has her Facebook filled with religious quotes decided to sic the twitter mob on him and posted this text from over a year ago. She has apparently been woke and posted about "confronting a racist."

Brings up a lot of biblical quotes/stories to my mind.
Judge not lest ye be judged.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Why worry about the speck in your neighbor's eye when you have a log in your own?
Treat others as you would have them treat you.
And, to paraphrase, You Pharisees and Saduccees who pray loudly on the street corners to get noticed will get your praise from fellow people on Earth. But you should pray in private and get rewards in Heaven.

Freedom of speech is free to say what you want without fear of arrest or retaliation from the government (there are even limits here when it comes to public safety and threats). It does not mean freedom from repercussions from your employer or public backlash.

This is a common refrain from people (on both sides of the aisle) who try to silence others' perspectives.

When I was growing up, it was conservatives using this to keep queers in the closet. Today, it's ANTIFA and the twitterazis using this to keep conservatives in the closet.

I think we should be mature enough as a society that no type of speech or action on your own free time should affect your career. If you're good at welding or teaching kids to read or marketing my product, I really shouldn't care how extreme your political views are or what gas station you robbed.

Not really, we all have the right to condemn those who spread hate speech. Businesses have the right to do what they think is best for their business and if an employee says something that makes the customers or public lose trust in them then that employer has the right to fire them. Freedom of speech isn't the same as freedom of consequences. People should be mature enough to not say stupid racist ****.

Are argument about whether people should be pro-fascist or anti-fascist more spin room argument than college sports arguments?

What Fromm said was kind of stupid, but I don't know that's its racist. It doesn't really even make any sense. And he puts the "ha, ha" in there, so he's saying it as some sort of joke.

What has happened is even mainstream comments like paying respect to the US flag get people attacked.

The clear point is that you should not put anything even potentially controversial on social media or in writing even if you aren't a public figure, let alone an athlete or TV personality. The real problem is that it even applies to middle school kids and as in Fromm's case, college juniors.

What that one person said was really to the point, "I guess Jake Fromm and I are the only ones who have ever said anything stupid."

You kids today annoy me sometimes. Maybe if you had spent more time learning to read instead of jacking off to avocado toast & chanting ok boomer – you would have noticed that the original post was from faux news. I apologize in advance if you consider this a personal attack.

I am not sure that Fromm’s post was raciest. With most public figures there is history to enable someone to understand the context. I have a sick & sarcastic sense of humor, but people who know mw know my history and this the intent of my comments.

I think the one thing we can all agree on is that until this issue is resolved; is that there is a 25-year ban on sports for all SEC schools (except for LSU). As well as The pedophile Big Ten Schools.
