Yes. I just read the apology.

I have about a hundred things to say on the subject, but it's probably best that I just keep my mouth shut. I tried having intelligent discussions on social media over the past week, but it's pointless when you show people FACTS and their response is "I don't care about facts, I know what I know", there really is no point.
So you agree that Drew himself feels he lost some cred.

I cant imagine what "Facts" you were posting.

The fact that in 2019 there were a total of 9 unarmed black men killed by police (and most of them, while unarmed, were in the process of assaulting the officer).

The fact that blacks being killed by police has dropped 70% over the past 40 years.

And, before you jump down my throat...yes, we still have work to do and yes, there are still racist elements that need to be addressed. Just because someone points out a fact, doesn't mean they are racist. People can be intelligent enough to be anti-racist and also be honest that there has been progress made.

It is trending down...But do you really feel that people who have been screaming police brutality for years and where mostly ignored due to lack of evidence are going to accept a downward trend when they finally have evidence in hand.

The data I find shows 28...But either way not a huge number.

And this is not only about deaths. It is about the overall treatment of crimes.

Lets compare Crack Addicts (Criminals who need to be locked up) to Prescription Drug Addicts (Sick individuals who need help).

Fair points. I can see what you're saying. I guess I'm looking at social media too much and seeing all of the comments about how there is a "genocide going on" and how a "black man can't walk down the street without being gunned down", type of rhetoric.

28 is the number of total deaths in 2019. 9 is the number of "unarmed", killed by cops. From the WSJ.

Different sources...And as I said neither is extremely high.

Thanks for sharing. It would be nice to be at 0, but I don't think that'll ever happen. I know a few cops and the stories they tell about the things they see makes me wonder how the numbers aren't higher.

I agree it will never be at 0...Because just because someone is unarmed doesn't mean they shouldn't be shot...(Black, white, Yellow, Brown or Green).

RE: Memphis Booster vs Memphis Player
So, Gabe and I met.
1) We are setting up the Kuhn/Jett foundation, non profit
2) We have already purchased 100 University of Memphis football season tickets for young adults who would otherwise have the chance to attend games.
3) We are also purchasing suits for the entire football team (100 players) for 2020
4) We are providing $ 10,000 from Jan to April of 2021 to go to underprivileged organizations or children - TBD

So, for everyone taking a swag at me or my thoughts or support, do something beside bump your gums or burning oxygen. Do something to make a difference.
Gabe and I had a very good 3 plus hour conversation and agree on 94% of things.
Making smurky comments, or just making comments to think you are better are meaningless and without merit. Shut up or put up.
Game on

I am personally a large donor for the basketball team. 6 of the 8 NBA shooting nets and the first one to provide funding for the Bahamas trip. Plus more.

The $ 10,000 could go to toward basketball tickets
for children who would not otherwise attend games but that will be up to Gabe he has complete control of the decisions. I am only providing funding.

Sounds impressive. Thank you for your generosity to the University. I do hope you meant to say the following in #2 above: "...tickets for young adults who would otherwise not have the chance...."

A question for you sir - and trying not to sound snarky - where the hell were you with credible information like this during the Big12 CF a few years ago? 03-hissyfit

I know a lot of people that make contributions and help without broadcasting it. Literally every single person on this board, actually.

^^^^^^this

We’ve all seen massive egos before but WOW...

Funny thing is, there are people on this board who give HUGE money to the athletic department, have for decades, and insist on complete anonymity.

Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Not an attack but an observation. Hence the "whatever floats your boat" comment. And I didn't say I don't agree with you regarding the points you were making. I actually do.
Obviously, we are all Tiger supporters and on the same team.
It's the presentation that's interesting/nauseating. But, hey, it takes all kinds.
