Thanks CG! Makes us all look a little smarter and I’m sure that his family appreciates it.

Looks like 11 Lakers saw the court last night, but not Devontae, unfortunately. LA defeated the Clippers, 103-101.

His chance will come.

I grabbed the box score this morning as well, just for this purpose.

RE: More Cacok
Well, the Lakers roster isn't as thin in his position as people thought. Additionally, there's no way he was going to see court time in such a close game with a division/conference rival. Saw him jumping around a few times in the background though.

RE: More Cacok
If Cacok is going to see the floor this season, he likely only has 2 more opportunities to do so, as I can't imagine the Lakers using him in their playoff games.

LA's remaining 2 regular season games are tonight against the Nuggets (9 PM EST) and Thursday against the Kings (1:30 PM).

It's not going to happen. The Lakers are far deeper than anyone thought they'd be at the beginning of last season. Go back and find the post in one of our threads when I told everyone exactly what would happen. The Lakers had/have championship aspirations and filled holes via free agency. They weren't just going to roll some rookies out there with what on paper is a vary daunting backbone of their lineup (LeBron, Anthony Davis).

Combine the roster with the current plight of the Lakers; they're not winning. They're getting off to slow starts, getting behind and having to expend a lot more energy to just get back into the game and then ultimately lose. Until the starters and significant bench players can figure out how to win games, they're not going to put the fringe bench players in games. They're trying to gel the core group just to get wins at this point. You can tell this group doesn't have good chemistry together. It reminds me of a bunch of the old Cleveland teams that LeBron played with prior to going to Miami. Some good players, but they rely far too much on LeBron to score and play defense.

Even with some that big time due, good role players (Howard, Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma), and free agency pickups in McGee, Rondo, Waiters, Morris (Both Waiters and Morris are going to always get floor time before Cacok, even though Waiters is technically a SF). So right now, at PF you have Davis, Howard, and Morris as natural PFs, plus LeBron's ability to play nearly every position on the floor (although I always argue he's not a good PG and the teams are better when he's not bringing the ball up the floor and being the PG).

All that to say... you're insane if you think Cacok is going to get on the court in Orlando.

True to all of that, but the Lakers have the # 1 seed wrapped up in the West. What would be the harm in throwing Cacok out there for a few minutes? Is playing the oft-injured Dwight Howard 20 minutes, like he did in the last game, all that smart for Vogel?

I'm not expecting him to play either and can understand the logic. Just hoping for it to happen, as you never know how many chances guys get it to see the floor in an NBA game.

I would love it if he did. However, I've watched almost all of the Lakers games (as much as I really don't want to, I still do). You can tell they are all rusty and not playing well together. They're trying to win games, instead they're going out there and getting embarrassed. Vogel is going to spend these last couple games trying to iron out the issues the starters and backups are having. With such a quick restart, the losses continuing and the playoffs coming up, he doesn't have the luxury of putting anyone else on the floor right now. I'd love to see Cacok, Kostas and Tucker on the floor more though. It's just not realistic right now. I still think next year is going to be the year for Cacok.

Checking in on the box score of the Lakers-Kings game going on right now. There was an article pre-game suggesting Cacok MIGHT make his debut, as the Lakers could look to rest LeBron. Anthony Davis, Caldwell-Pope, Alex Caruso and Kyle Kuzma were all listed as inactive.

Midway thru the 2nd Quarter, 10 different players have seen the floor for the Lakers. Horton-Tucker got the start at PG.

Kostas Antetokounmpo just got into the game. The 11th Laker to see action in this one.

The game is about to head into the 4th Quarter, with the Lakers currently getting blown out by the Kings (105-80).

Devontae Cacok just made his NBA debut and has score his first points!

He joins Brian Rowsom and Matt Fish as the only UNCW Seahawks to play in the NBA.

So, is it safe to assume that Cacok will get an NBA Championship ring given his status on the bubble Laker team?

I think so! He's included in the team champions picture and was on the court celebrating as well
