I disagree. We are better academically, athletically, and historically than ULL. Louisiana is a state, ULL is a college.
They are now known as Louisiana no matter how much you all cry about it.
Not true. They are University of Louisiana @ Lafayette according to state law and to be addressed as such. You really don't like to argue facts do you? You just spout hyperbole to see who will bite. Classy.
Kind of surprised you LA Tech fans aren't a bit more p***ed off at The Louisiana University of Agriculture & Technical College of Baton Rouge (aka, "LSU") than you are at ULL (aka, "Louisiana") for hiding from their official university banners vs being honest on their athletic uniforms... seems like everyone's doing that these days.

Which bothers you more? The fact their branding efforts have worked and people refer to them as Louisiana? Or the fact they average more fans than La Tech? Or the fact they bring in around $1 million more per year in ticket sales than La Tech? Or the fact they have a bigger budget than La Tech? Or maybe its because they bring in more money in contributions as well as rights/licensing fees?
Heck, I'm honestly wondering why Louisiana wasn't invited to CUSA. Not saying over La Tech cause I like you guys, but the more I look at Louisiana the more I wonder why they were not invited. They seem to have solid fan support.
Aw, bless your heart. I appreciate your family photo you sent me for Christmas!

La Tech must be flush with cash and no fears of cuts. Nice!
Word in the street is that the UL System will not allow the 3% General Fund transfer for athletics this upcoming fiscal year. Which in turn would reduce La Tech’s athletic budget to about $12M.
It's never wise to accept counsel on mathematics from a Cajun. They don't even teach math at Lafayette.
Quote:Ok, a reduction of 45-50% of your athletic budget. If you don’t understand that your athletic department will not be allowed to use the $12M that is transferred from the general University fund to athletics Then I can’t help you.
You can't help me at all, because I'm not hiring janitorial help right now. Come see me in the fall.
Ok guy, you want me to bring you some 1/4” rope so you can floss around your three teeth?
Since Ruston is/was a dry town I see that meth has done a number on your cognitive ability.

How so? Admittedly, I don’t get the issue. But, reading here it seems to be a localized (state) thing. Out of curiosity, I searched twitter for “University of Louisiana offer” and many, many popped up. From a quick perusal, it appears Lafayette mentions are from locals, while national recruits use Louisiana. This correlates to media use as well with quite a bit of Louisiana use nationally while Lafayette remains popular locally. If the goal is national branding, I’d say it’s working quite well. The battle remains instate and apparently raises strong feelings that will be difficult/if not impossible to overcome.

A sunbelt mod on a CUSA smack board. Hmm. Perhaps we should compare our bench press “bro.”

Dude, you don’t need to get offended by that picture. It was just his cousin from Ruston anyway.
