All programs appear to be available, I've highlighted a few times below:

Women's and Men's basketball are at June 8th, 6pm and 7:30 pm respectively.

Football is at 6 pm June 12th

Baseball is at 6 pm June 17th.

I signed up for Football and Men's basketball. You also have the option to submit questions, I asked about their thoughts on the CAA, and the distance between schools in times like these.

A pretty neat idea, and I appreciate the level of access.

For those of us who signed up -- when will we receive the particulars about how to access? Hopefully not at the last minute.

RE: Virtual Tribe Talks
I’ve signed up but the MBB talk takes place during my kid’s bedtime so I may miss some of it. The question I submitted was obviously about recruiting! I hope to hear some news even if it’s only general remarks about how the pandemic has shifted timelines.

Coach Fischer sounds cautiously optimistic on the call about scheduling Richmond soon which is great.

Thanks Tribe athletics and the Men’s b-ball staff for putting that on. Great insight and opportunity to connect with the coaching staff.

Go Tribe!

I had conflicts and didn't do it as well. Check the wmsportsblog Twitter feed. He posted many of the noteworthy quotes.

RE: Virtual Tribe Talks
Spme takeaways:

*Not very optimistic about landing a talented transfer at this point. They are, however, still looking.

*Positive news...the Kaplan Arena project is on, preliminary engineering work is well underway, and completion
for the fall of 2022 is on schedule.

*Very high on his current three incoming freshmen: expect to see all three playing, as well as our redshirt
center from last season who he really likes.

*Three home games with three of last season's early road games, working on Richmond, and also working on an
early season tourney as last season which gets us some home games that don't count against the maximum allowed.
No chance of a UVA or Va Tech home game until perhaps the opening of the new Kaplan Arena in 2022.

*Covid-19 effect on season still undecided like every college.

RE: Virtual Tribe Talks
Should add there was a big turnout of 96 people on the call including the assistant coaches and Samantha. You were able to submit questions
live on the call.

A good hour that made for a very needed positive Tribe hoops event during these grim days.

Virtual Tribe Talks
My biggest takeaway was that Dane is super high on Ben Wight. It sounds like he'll be our starting center next year.

RE: Virtual Tribe Talks
My notes, leaving out the already mentioned items on grad transfers (not much available), Kaplan work on schedule and the Ben and the incoming freshmen update.

The schedule for 2020 is still a work in progress. High Point, American and Fairfield will all be returning last year's away games. ODU and Hampton are OOC road games. They are looking for a well known "name" school, in an area where we have lots of alums, for one spot and we are already in one of those "don't count against the schedule" tournaments. Said they are also working on a state of Wisconsin game for Luke, but nothing yet and it may be a tough get.

We lost a lot of interior players, but we will still play the "4 out - 1 in" style of offense from last season, we will just look for other avenues/players to get our scoring (with Jake being one of the potential sources).

He thinks the pandemic may change recruiting mostly by causing some players to make their decisions earlier than in most years. They have been regularly doing Zoom chats/visits with prospects.

Said Mekhel is continuing to improve, but didn't say much more.

Overall, an upbeat session. Nice to see familiar names/faces on the screen.

RE: Virtual Tribe Talks
Dane was asked about bringing in transfers that have to sit out a year and then have a couple of years eligibility as part of an overall way to build a program. He indicated that he is not big on that approach and in this day and time his answer made very good sense. First, he indicated that he felt that the best way to build a program that can sustain success is to bring in freshman who will be a part of the program for four years. But he also cautioned that one of his concerns about the sit one, play two transfers, and I am certainly paraphrasing here, is that these guys ultimately become excellent candidates to eventually be grad transfers and move elsewhere after maybe playing for us for just one year. I can certainly see his point that this could be very disruptive to our program.

He also cautioned about grad transfers, suggesting that many of these guys transfer so that they can have the opportunity to be the guy somewhere else to enhance their own resumé. He lauded Bryce and Tyler for being the exact opposite of that.

RE: Virtual Tribe Talks
Compared to a lot of schools, we have a pretty limited number of grad programs, with a limited number of spots, which makes it tough for us to get grad transfers, from what I know.

I think our "best" avenue for grad transfers is basically the Ivy League. The Ivy League doesn't allow grad students to play sports, and they'll be academically minded kids.

Virtual Tribe Talks
Coach seemed to light up when talking about the incoming freshman ... especially Jake and Yuri. He noted Kuchera for being our first commit, an outstanding 3 point shooter and great leader. He said they were looking first for guys that could score in the 2020 recruiting class. I think all the freshman will play next year and I wouldn’t be shocked if Yuri and Jake are getting substantial time early and/or starting at some point. He said both Jake and Yuri play above the rim, that Yuri seemed to slip through the recruiting cracks and how Jake is fully healthy and can score on all 3 levels.

He noted Luke’s drastic improvement from last season to this season and is hoping some other guys take a significant step. He said Thatcher Stone is a guy to keep an eye on who was behind last year because he got here so late but by the end of conference play was playing well enough to garner minutes. There just weren’t any available. He said Thatcher will bring needed athleticism to our lineup. I’d guess Thatcher and Quinn will play the “4” spot with Quinn starting and with Ben and Mehkel rotating at the 5 next year. Coach noted how much Ben improved practicing so hard against Nate and Andy everyday and said though he’s skinny he has a very high motor.

He said being here a full year now allows the coaches to target specific needs for the 2021 class and he said the 3 areas they’re targeting are a PG that can truly penetrate, a 6’6+ wing player (probably in the Justin Pierce mode - I’m adding that part), and a true big. They couldn’t say names but Coach seemed very comfortable with where they were in the process with 2021 recruits almost seeming like some of the guys we are targeting and in good with might be making decisions sooner rather than later (I’m reading into that).

Coach noted that we led the league in attendance and that several recruits mentioned the atmosphere at Kaplan in a positive way last year.
