This is likely against everyone's religion but wouldn't it be funny if the WAC was used for that purpose? I hmean it has the necessary auto bids but only 1 fbs school. If the SBC and CUSA want to become 3 smaller FBS conferences, ship the 7 western most schools to the WAC and presto change-o, a new/old FBS conference.

So you'd be kicking out the schools, other than NMSU, that are in the WAC now?

Absolutely not. It would become a much healthier basketball conference even if a bit unwieldly at 16 members. Divisions or pods to help travel expenses.

Yeah, the first time they took the "pod" challenge it came close to killing it ... would have killed it had the NCAA not swapped the continuity rule.
