It is silly not to have the three NC teams - App State, Charlotte, and ECU all in the same conference if you were doing this reasonably. Same goes for two GA teams - GA State and GA Southern.

I have come to agree with you. To me, one of the drivers must be, do you see your opponent's fans at work, at your kid's schools, and in the grocery store. Rivalries come from interaction with those fans.

That is certainly true for high schools and instate FCS teams. I am not sure that is the case with P5 conferences if that is the model to be emulated. Although UAT/Auburn and Miss State / Ole Miss see each other pretty regular.

clt sees eCu grads at the grocery store. They do an excellent job of bringing the carts in from the parking lot, but struggle to slice deli meats in an uniform width.

Here's mine: The Sun Belt Conference does not need the MAC, CUSA, or the MWC. Although UAB, USM and Marshall would strengthen the Belt.

My opinion.... No conference needs So Alabama 03-nutkick

nor Troy

Recommend replacing "width" with "thickness". ODU grads also see eCu grads at the grocery stores.

Get ready for ESPN to flex their muscle AAC. AAC will the be the first renegotiation reduction. Since UConn left and now that ESPN has 90% viewership expect a devastating blow.

Though I admire your shameless persistence, you've been wrong on every Espn-Aac issue for years now, so your opinion reassures me,

There is nothing wrong with the AAC. We shouldn’t bother including them in any of the scenarios. They have surpassed us in every major way. The only two overlapping conferences with geography issues are Sunbelt and CUSA. MAC and MWC are pretty well the geographical shape they need to be.

lol...so your theory that the AAC deal will be "drastically" reduced is based another guy who ALSO HASN'T read the contract and who NEVER said the deal would be "drastically" reduced. I'm going to stick with the AAC commissioners quotes that were not vague at all. He said the schools will see NO reduction in revenue. That seems pretty darn solid to me. Your going to be wrong yet again on this one.

It’s no theory my young inexperienced friend. Let me let you on little secret. There are two sides to a negotiation. Aresco has only 1 angle in this. And the AAC has absolutely no leverage.

Why would ESPN go on record saying that the “AAC deal was negotiated with UConn in the conference and that is their preference that UConn is included” And UConn is the “blue chip asset” of the AAC. It’s no secret ESPN really wanted the exclusive right to the biggest and best brand in women sports maybe for political purposes.

Once again if ESPN was going settle for less than 1/12th, this renegotiation would have been done in the Summer of 2019.

G5 conferences might combine once ESPN flexes their muscle with the AAC.

Really bad timing for the AAC to be renegotiating a deal, that’s life though.

Pipe dream. AAC is the mechanism by which ESPN cuts the cream from the G5 top. They will be protected. It’s about rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Sure. You didn’t know that message boards were full of pipe dreams?

Just go look at the other threads

As far as protected. ESPN is beholden to DIS, AAC is nothing but a speck on the radar. And ESPN is going to flex it’s muscle

My guess is the monetary adjustment is less than UConn's share and was probably handled long ago. The real negotiation is over broadcast windows. For instance, there is now 10% less inventory in football and basketball. ESPN may want to revise the minimum games they are required to broadcast on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU for as long as the AAC is light one team in football and basketball inventory. I can almost guarantee they want to show fewer AAC womens basketball games on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU (Thats a lock down certainty). So, those factors will influence whether Aresco and Company decide they might want to go ahead and add a non-football team to fill in the basketball inventory loss. That in turn might affect the pay adjustment and broadcast windows---So, you can see---there are lots of interconnected moving parts here and its not as simple as some seem to think. There is a process they are going through. It will get done---but its going to take a while to sort it all out.
