If UT played LSU every season would it be just as big as last seasons game? Or would it be similar to the annual game aggy plays vs LSU? I know just one arkansas fan and he absoultely rather play UT than the other school. I wonder if that's because UT and Pig don't play every year like they do vs aggy or if it's because it's just bigger history?
In 2018, Texas A&M's football program earned $20M more in profit than Texas. Texas A&M was ranked #1 and Texas was ranked #2. I haven't seen more recent numbers than those.
As far as home game attendance goes...Texas' average numbers: 2018 (97,713) & 2019 (96,305). Texas A&M's average numbers: 2018 (99,844) & 2019 (101,542).
Games against LSU: 2018 (LSU @ Texas A&M - 101,501), 2019 (LSU @ Texas - 98,763 / home vs. Texas A&M - 102,218).
I couldn't find a good site for TV viewership per school for the entire season instead of just per matchup. That would be telling as well.
A&M had some big fund-raising program that year. Oregon was #1 one year when they had a big Nike donation. Every other year in the last 10 or so, Texas has been #1 in athletics revenue. A&M is top 10, but that #1 year was an unusual situation.
Kyle Field renovations with some big 1 time gifts.
Were the profit margins what was leftover from the renovations or was it the amount in fund-raising above and beyond the expenditures for the team?
This is precisely why I refer people to Gross Total Revenue figures. Those aren't fudged. They are what they claim to be. Once you get into NET loss or NET profit you are entering the world of accounting fiction. The claims of being revenue leaders is always figured in Gross Total Revenue for that reason. The Year A&M was #1 they had larger than normal donations mostly earmarked for stadium renovation. That's all you need to know and all you will be able to find out.

Bullet you are right about that.. seeing Baylor tear down it's goal posts for beating a bad Texas team was crazy.

Missouri did it too. Then there was a 3rd one, but I don't remember who.
