I am fairly impressed how they are doing this.

Edited to add: they are using someone with a physical 20 sided die to determine the order in which the top 5 token gainers will address the convention.

Apparently the candidate whose policy is 'ZOMBIE PREPAREDNESS AND THE PONY BASED ECONOMY' was third in the number of nominating tokens --- calls himself Vermin Supreme and he wears a wizard hat.

Little surprised the Comedy Channel didn't pick that up.

Vermin Supreme and zombie preparedness. 03-lmfao

It's actually kinda sad the LP makes a mockery of itself. I could take them seriously if they took themselves seriously.

If the Libertarians could somehow find and promote some modern-day Milton Friedmans and put them up-front, they would really be on to something good. Then you could have the Kinky Friedmans in the background. What they’ve got now is the exact reverse.

Kinky wasnt a Libertarian, he ran as an independent.

Just got back to the Libertarian live stream. Apparently the national organization set up a dedicated email address to the national Secretary to be used to to communicate ballot results from the state delegation chairs to the national tallying point.

Well.....

Someone said the email addy on the stream, and people started pummeling the address with porn. At another point to one state chair asked for some ballot issue help, and the national secretary said to 'email the address given, but I am not going to give it out again because we got slammed with porn'. So in the YouTube chat, all the 'eavesdroppers' immediately posted the email address. About two minutes later the secretary asked some tech person (online and openly) to change out the address due to the mailbox being flooded again with pornographic materials.

This is better than any episode of 'The IT Crowd'.

But he was still someone who used a political campaign primarily as a form of entertainment and self-promotion, and whose ideological/philosophical outlook (libertarian or otherwise) got lost in the shuffle.

That kind of approach to politics is good for a few laughs and sometimes it’s even good for a few votes. I just don’t think it’s what the Libertarians need right now.

So the presidential nominee is Jo Jorgensen. They could have done worse. I'll probably vote for her, unless Trump needs me in Texas. And if he needs me in Texas, then the outlook isn't great nationally.

Vote on the VP nominee is today. None of the ones in the VP debate did anything for me, so I'm hoping it's somebody else.

The least odious choice by far. But she, like Gary, lacks oratory grace.

Jorgensen was the best of the top 5 in the debate --- by far.

I'm with you on the vote for the L --- for a Texan it is a safe vote. If it is close enough that Trump *has* to have my vote for Texas, he'll get it. But if it is that much of a struggle to retain Texas, he is hosed overall.

I am looking forward to the Presidential debates --- an overbearing narcissistic ass versus a word salad where the mayo in the dressing has gone slightly rancid.

My bet is that Biden dodges even the concept of appearing on a debate stage. But *if* any debate occurs, I wouldnt miss it for the world just for the jollies of watching that match up. Kind of a Scrooge McDuck vs Goofy face off....

Libertarians need to push their message better and take over the GOP like the marxists prog filth took over the Democrats.

Until this happens you might as well try to race a llama in the Kentucky derby.

you had me until "marxists".

the two party republican form of governance has prevailed for two centuries. I'm really sorry that you feel left out, but you and your ilk can **** right off if you want to turn the most stable republican form of government into a multiparty democracy, like, say, israel.

if you want chaos, listen to the breathing gasbags like the libertarians.

they're all odious. are you a libertarian/Libertarian just so you can stand on the sidelines and criticize the parties that are actually doing their democratically elected and (frequently article II authorized) jobs?

I'm a libertarian because I believe in liberty and freedom. I vote Libertarian because both democrats and republicans suck.

The "progressive" socialist/communist democrats are my enemies. And republicans are doing precious little to oppose them. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, but I'm ready for my enemies' enemies to get on the stick. Stupid party versus evil party.

I am sure that makes you feel all warm and snugly at night.

Ultimately, libertarians/Libertarians are cowards that simply won't choose a side.

Tell republicans (or democrats, for that matter) that if they want my vote, they need to do better--a lot better. Since 1980, republicans have held the white house 24 out of 40 years, and have had majorities in at least one house of congress 28 out of 40 years, and this country has moved steadily left. That's not being good enemies of my enemies.

Democrats are passionate about pushing the country toward a "progressive" socialist/communist/globalist world view. Republicans are not passionate abut anything. Passion beats non-passion 99 times out of 99. And I'm tired of republicans not doing what they say they stand for.

I despise everything the Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi stand for, but I wish republicans had congressional leaders with the fire and passion that they have. McConnell, Boehner, Ryan, and McCarthy don't have it. I don't know that any of them could lead a sex addict to a whorehouse.

If republicans want my vote, they need to start actually moving the country to the right. Right now, democrats are driving us off a cliff, and all republicans are doing is trying to keep them in second gear.
