OT - Visiting Campus Next Week (5/25-5/29)
I have all of next week off and am considering taking my kids to Harrisonburg for their first ever visit. Can I park on campus and walk them around? Don't want to get down there and learn that everything's closed off, but I'm not aware of what kind of access people still have to campus. Any local knowledge would be much obliged!

I'd recommend talking to the alumni office. They can give you some really good advice on what's open, what to do, where to park, and what's changed.

Campus is open. Buildings are probably closed/locked down but you can park where ever and walk around.

Alumni office is still in a work-from-home state but call and check. If you need a contact there PM me. Alumni office always loves hearing from our Alums

I was on campus last week and it was "packed" with people taking grad photos. The quad probably had 50-75 ppl on it, which I would say is packed for this scenario. Almost all of the building are closed but there were plenty of people walking around and still plenty of sights to see.

Have also been thinking of taking a ride down to JMU just to get out of the house for a while and see what is going on in the Burg.

We were there last week to finish clearing out my son’s dorm room. It felt good to just drive through campus and walk around a bit. We were there in the morning and campus was EMPTY - a very weird feeling. Even in non-school times campus is usually packed with orientations, tours, camps, etc.
