Why not?

He would have to play against tough defensive players in practice thus I think he would not have the confidence to compete. I think he knew that which is why he chose another school. Your opinion my vary.

Averaged 17 in the Big East and transferred into the Big 12 but is scared of our practicing against our guards... 03-lmfao

Maybe so but I wonder if he would have preferred not to have to prove himself to his teammates?

Yes, he didn't want to deal with tough defense in practice - so he goes to Texas Tech because of course Texas Tech and their HC are not known for enforcing a hard, no gambling physical defense and style of play. This message board has gotten to the point it's not even worth a Sunday morning visit.

Frosh year played really well in Pick and Roll with Jessie Govan -- yes the nephew of Gerald Govan the Memphis ABA Center. This past year Govan gone but a transfer big and McClung did well in Pick and Roll. He and Seton Hall AA guard were best players on court in a tight rough game with a Louisville Memphis style shoving match. So a strong scoring post player would seem to appeal to him....

The bad news - this guy is basically an East Tennessee kid (he is from a Bristol, Va village part of Tri-Cities). His father played football at Va Tech, has been a practicing attorney and now County Attorney for Bristol, etc. His sister played soccer at UT. Not a typical profile for a Memphian.

Would be nice to see Penny get him. We'll see.

If McClung wants to be an attorney, then he'll go to one of the other choices.

If he wants to better his pg skills and play in the NBA, then he'll pick Memphis and play for Penny.

It's as simple as that.

Texas Tech and Auburn are better programs now and Arkansas is in a better conference and have had several tournament teams since the 4Kingz went pro.

Haven't been on here in awhile as we buried our mother last week after a five month hospitalization with a trach tube stuck in her throat. Just as well this message board is likewise dying a progressive slow death with people who contributed information and context replaced with hollow opinions voiced by kid p'ant trolls massaging fragile self-confidence.

Kind of like a large family - there's always that one you try to work with/around until you just accept it for what it is and walk away.

Chris Beard put freshmen into 1st round last 2 years of NBA draft and was 2019 Nat Coach of the Year. But according to some posturing Memphis message board no nothing he can't get players ready for NBA.

This didn't play out well - saw some guy from NYC area so played the "I can get some brownie points with the other posters going after the NYC guy."

Next time he'll go after a female, Snowtiger, like a 3rd rate young predater in the wild - but she'll chew him up.

Penny1 will eventually be found tranquilized at a park campsite after following squirrels to find a meal that won't bite back.

Good luck to you wild man - maybe JackHanna1 will be a better name moving forward.

I thought my comment was a well thought out opinion. I'm sorry it offended you on a Sunday morning.

I don't follow the big 12 or Texas Tech so I have no idea what type of defense they have. Nor do I care. I just added my opinion and obviously upset you. And on Sunday morning no less. Maybe one day we can all be just as fluent of all college basketball programs as you proport to be?

As for me I'll just stick with being an ignorant Tigers fan regardless of day.

Edit: Oh, I see you live in Connecticut? That know-it-all mentality that is so common up there must have worn off on you? Or maybe you had that smarty-pants attitude intact when you relocated there?

Y'all better be careful talking about the guy whose ego is wrapped up in being a lawyer for a former baseball player. He doesn't like backtalk.

Unfortunately, the best Texas Tech message board is a Rivals site behind a paywall.
