And yeah, Northram is a non-starter. Way too divisive. We need a unifier that faculty, staff, students, alums, business leaders and politicians can get behind.

What about Paul Fraim? While somewhat old, he has been around long enough to be extremely connected and is well respected by both sides.

I think Paul Fraim had some corruption issues at the end of his tenure in NFK.

Will Sessoms seemed pretty good at getting things done politically, if we are just throwing out names of politicians that may check that one particular box. I have no idea what the qualifications of a University President are, so please don't take anything I say seriously lol.

Rumor has it he didn't run for re-election because the feds had him tied in with the corruption with Boone, among other things. A "keep it moving or we're coming for you" deal. Then the city grossly overpaid for Greenies. That's likely not very coincidental.

I wouldn't be surprised if Austin Agho gets the nod either, especially if advancing our health sciences is a big priority. He is currently the Provost for the University and the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and has a doctorate in Hospital and Health administration.

If they hire from within I'd be less worried about potential disruptions in this already calamitous time.

That my friends would be a terrible mistake says a voice from inside the compound.

ODU needs some fresh blood and new ideas. This is not the time for continuity with an inside hire, but a bold step forward IMO. I would hope there would be a legit national search.

Why is Petey Sessoms number not retired? Major oversight !!
Petey Sessoms, the school’s fourth all-time scorer with 1,985 career points.

Completely agree. Unless he didnt graduate, I cant think of any reason. His performance and contributions on the court exceed some others who have been retired.

I don't know anything from the inside, and don't know anything about the process, but I wouldn't be surprised if Broderick was asked to make a recommendation. I wonder if Alonzo Brandon would be on his list.

We need to start a petition. His jersey deserves to hang in the Ted. Big question - where is he now?

I wholeheartedly agree and hope the renewed focus is on academic excellence, intentional growth, campus enhancement and annexing EVMS. The focus should not be misguided social engineering. There are community colleges for a reason. It's not Old Dominion's mission to act as an improved community college with access for all. Old Dominion should be a goal and a destination for academic growth and achievement.
