I remember a decade ago or so the MWC and CUSA discussed forming some type of scheduling alliance...could something like this work for CUSA and the SBC? There is so much geographic overlap. Using football and basketball as an example, cut down on long distance conference games and play regional interconference games.

Playing in a regional bus league has not helped attendance in the MAC

Great idea. UAB baseball should play Samford 4-6 games. Play Troy, Jax St, South Alabama, North Alabama, Alabama, Auburn , Ala St, Ala A&M 2 to 4 games.
Conference USA then divide into Pods. Play 3 game home and home series with Southern Miss, MTSU, and WKy. Then play one home series and one road series with TBA C-USA opponent. (24 conference games)
Alternatively play Ole, Miss, Miss St, Ga St, GaTech, Georgia, Mercer and Nashville schools in 2 games midweek.
Then play conference tournament when school is out.

I think this is more about travel cost than attendance.
