It was a little over $900,000.
I also wonder how much is spent for travel for non revenue sports. Anyone know?

I will look it up but my guess is regardless of the amount we will be looking into more regional travel across the board. We are already doing it in some of the sports, and I know this is a topic being discussed by the AAC. I have heard one suggestion that we just play regionally opponents in baseball without a conference slate, but there would be a conference tournament at the end of the regular season to determine the champion.
Baseball/Softball are real killers for northern teams with the amount of travel they run up in the early spring. I had a few baseball players in class at UT and they both would need supplemental instruction for at least 3 weeks at the end of February because of all of the class time they missed. Hell, I think they were in Florida and Georgia for 10 consecutive days at one point....for a 25+ man operation to have to shack up and drive around down there for that amount of time has to run a ton.

Furman added men's lacrosse in addition to the baseball program. Check out some of the other AD cuts in the tweet below...

The Central Michigan cuts put them one sport below the minimum sport threshold for FBS now...will be interesting to watch that situation up in Mt. Pleasant.

Yes, I posted a tweet about that above. It said the AD would be addressing it today. I saw something mentioning they might add an e-sport team which initially sounded like a joke, but I guess kind of makes sense in this day and age.

Illinois Wesleyan has 6 e-sports teams. Two of them have been around for awhile, and 4 will be brand new next year.
Illinois State announced in Fall 2019 that they're starting an e-sports team in 2020.
But I don't think either of those are run through the athletic department. So I doubt it counts for NCAA purposes.

Although I haven't heard of any P5 program cuts, I know there have been some temporary salary reductions. West Virginia and Kansas come to mind.

A friend sent this to me because he knows I follow this kind of stuff. Loveland High School's top 10 graduating seniors: 1 is going to Notre Dame, and 9 are going to OSU. This isn't in Cleveland; it's right in our back yard.
I think it also speaks to the precarious position Miami has found itself in within Ohio and backs up the quote I saw stating that nine out of ten Ohio kids with offers to OSU and Miami choose OSU. Should Miami's Chicago pipeline dry up because of COVID, they are in real trouble. UC, on the other hand, hasn't overextended itself with out of state students. In fact, we have a huge potential for growth just be extending our brand to the rest of Ohio, but first we need to get more top ten type kids from our own backyard.
I up near Loveland and it has a strange concentration of tOSU fans here. I guess it is the easy access to I71N to go up to CBus. There is also a weird fear of Clifton as urban inner city in these parts...as if tOSU isn't in an urban inner city area.
Yup. As someone who has lived Columbus and now lives in Loveland I have these discussions with people all the time:
Loveland/Mason/West Chester Dad: Oh my god, I am not sending my daughter down to the hood (UC). She is going to OSU.
The fact is that part of Columbus might be worse than Clifton, especially when you pull up the crime reports and see all the rapes, murders, and other varieties of crime. For some reason, people think when they go to OSU they will be in a suburban setting.
Circling back on this: we had a parade in my large residential neighborhood for grads. Probably 20 kids or more, most of whom are going to college town MAC schools: Ohio, Miami and BGSU. Saw an OSU and an Alabama— no UC. There were some that did not indicate where they were going to college- maybe some of those are headed to Clifton.

Let's face it a lot of schools are in sketchy areas, because they where established a hundred or more years ago in nice urban areas but now are in the hood.

My grandson went to school in Columbus - but we solved the poor area problem - he was actually in the suburbs -Otterbein in Westerville (he's now finishing his 2nd year of medical school in a suburb of Dayton). On the other hand we didn't let our daughter go to Columbia because as native NYC'ers we knew the sketchy neighborhood - so she went to Penn instead, in an almost as sketchy area, just in Philly. (She had her car stolen in the first 2 weeks.) She got a great education anyhow!
