Well, in your case.....it is an opinion, not a fact.....AND IT IS WRONG.

As of today, there have been 85,438 deaths, with 40,782 of those in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

TO BE EXACT, THAT IS 48%.....NOWHERE NEAR 75%.

Stop stating alternative opinions as facts.

Additionally, the nursing home deaths are 35% nationally, not close to 75%.

I understand you have a point of view, but, don’t create FACTS to fit your narrative.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most contracts have act of God clauses. Pandemic would fall under that.

Most is 50%, 80%, 100%? Is COVID19 an act of god? I hope our contracts were written to our advantage.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

add the nursing deaths to NY,Ct,NJ..48% + the nursing homes is 75%. Those are the #'s. NY + nursing homes and I'll stick by those #s. The country has to move forward. Stop being afraid. Hear FDR's words...

A bad flu season has killed more so far...A bad flu season would not be enough to bust a contract nor be considered an act of GOD.

LOL. Well, that double counts any nursing home death in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.......so again, not a fact.

And I do try to avoid controllable things that can kill me, seems like a reasonable thing to do.

RE: Will NIU have fall sports this year?
Just a what if, but what if the hunger for sports actually creates the opportunity to restart with a bang? We are a sports-nut kind of people. We are also a defiant people, especially when we're deprived of our toys.

Huskie Stadium seats 23,595. One-sixth of that is about 3,932 (six feet of separation). With simple facemasks, you might double that to 7,864. Nobody's going to run around with a tape measure. So let's squeeze that to 10,000 determined fans, including those standing around Touchdown Village. A little urging, and we get those who stay out tailgating/partying to "check in" so they're at least counted. So 12,000. About half. (of course, as soon as those weekday night games come on, the FB thing just goes belly up.)

But then we have basketball. The Convocation Center seats 9,000 (10,000 for other events). One-sixth is 1,500, which is slightly higher than our best MBB game last year. Squeeze a little and you get 2,000. A whole lot better. Any of us would be thrilled at 2,000 per home game. And instead of 500 at a WBB game, we get 1,000. Eminently livable.

The worst case, NIU sports is in the tank. The above is doable. How's your glass? Half empty, or half full?

Go Forward! Or get the hell out of the way. If we don't make a commitment to have the university open in the fall and to play NIU is over as we know it.

I do think Americans are caught in a vicious political battle, they receiving unwanted crossfire in what should be a bloody POLITICAL battle fought within the bounds of DC. Americans are now the pawns in this battle. Real, hard working people and generations of people will die from this economic devastation. I still do not think people realize the decade of death and misery we have set ourselves up for.
