VERY Tiger-related.

Please put me on ignore and don't ever comment on any of my posts ever again.

F*ck no.

Nice try.

I never put anyone on ignore either.

Very much agreed.

prolly behind a pay wall:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/13/sport...virus.html

Fresno State: Speaking on condition of anonymity because no plans have been finalized, an official at Fresno State explained that agriculture classes that require students to be out in the fields would be permitted, so for now football — and other sports — would fit into that category.

SDSU: An official at San Diego State, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the C.S.U. announcement about virtual classes had yielded misleading headlines, particularly about how the rules might apply to sports.

San Jose State: Mary A. Papazian, the San Jose State president, said in a statement that as many as 25 percent of classes at her school would be candidates to remain open.

Mtn West: So naturally, the Mountain West Conference, in which Fresno State, San Diego State and San Jose State play football, issued a statement in conjunction with the three university presidents saying that no decision on athletics had been made. The universities said in separate statements that they would be evaluating athletics.

(There was no need for Craig Thompson, the Mountain West commissioner and a member of the College Football Playoff management committee, to sleep on it last month. He said then in an interview that the conference posted on YouTube: “Unless they’re in full mode with dormitories and housing, and all the other facilities that are open, we won’t have college athletics. We will not have college athletics until the campuses are open.”)

Leaders of the University of California, the state’s other four-year university system, are expected to discuss their plans at a meeting next week. Their decisions will directly affect schools like U.C.L.A. and Cal-Berkeley, but will also have implications for many other universities in Division I.

Democrat ran states are locked down, illegally at that.

It's not about fear of an overhyped flu virus. It's political warfare.

The "new norm".

The last time i lived in a fog of delusion like your's was the year after I returned home from Viet Nam and was high every minute for the entire year. Put down the joint dude, there is real s**t going on out here.

Texas also has rising cases.

Interesting projection of Republican traits onto political opponents. Very agit-prop!

+3 for agit-prop.

I’m in California . My county has 0 active cases —5 recoveries no mortalities. I live 4 hrs north of S.F.

The California outbreak is LA. It has more than half of the confirmed cases.

They did not lock down like the Bay Area did.

Yes, the Bay is the archetypal example of how making quick decisions to lock down best works to flatten the curve.

Untrue about Cali not reopening. This past week we have begun opening in stages— started last Friday. It varies from county to county, as 3 have no reported cases.

I know that I was supposed to be going to Palm Springs in mid-June, but the hotel has contacted me and said that I would not be able to stay there. They are only allowed to provide rooms to essential workers and the homeless.
No. Lie.

I rechecked the data, and Snow is right. CA is increasing primarily in LA. But the positive test rate continues to fall, like it does in just about all of the US.

We all have "rising cases", due to greatly increasing testing - which is what everyone has been screaming for. Contrary to what the media reports, TX is not really increasing. Since re-opening, TX positive rate continues to fall. As does their hospitalizations.

When the media picked up the narrative of "TX is increasing after re-opening", the state had just conducted a run of the biggest testing days since this began. They tested a bunch of the packing plants in Amarillo. But the 2 important stats - positive rate and hospitalizations - continue downward.

GA is another interesting case. They have been open for over 2 weeks now. Their positive test rate is dropping much faster than the national average.

Early data shows that the states who have reopened continue to have rates falling faster than states that have tighter restrictions. Weird. Will be interesting to watch this to help determine how effective the shutdowns really are.

I hope things continue to progress in a positive manner as I will be out their in July (mostly in the Sierra Mountains hiking, etc). I need to research how in-n-out burger is dealing with the pandemic. always hordes of people in line there. I always stop there when I arrive and when I leave.
