Any chance Shane will come back?

You mean the Shane that declared for the draft, the same Shane we have a replacement for?

In the current era where so much information is deemed fake news, you can't blame the guy for asking.

Will 2021 be Tanner's first year at SMU? How much eligibility does he have left? What about Preston Stone? Will someone redshirt? Maybe Tanner will be as good as Shane, maybe better. But we won’t know until he has actually played a down.

surprised, just a little, at how low UCF is - reflection of issues / questions re: Heupel and Shannon?

It is remarkable, IMO, seeing the majority of AAC schools rank in the top 37% of their recruiting ranking. Power 6, indeed.....

Tulsa is up to nine defensive starters expected back in 2021 including five returning seniors with a combined 75 starts: Cullen Wick, Tyarise Stevenson, Treyvon Reeves, TieNeal Martin and Allie Green IV. Will Cristian Williams be back for a seventh year?

We should be returning at least 8 on offense as well I believe. This team should be stacked next year.

@PeteThamel
Sources: Cincinnati is expected to hire Mike Tressel as the school's next defensive coordinator. He's a longtime Michigan State assistant and the school's former DC under Mark Dantonio. Luke Fickell and Tressel were on staff at Ohio State together in the early 2000s.

Mike is former OSU Coach Jim Tressel’s nephew. Mike was linebackers coach at UC from 2004-2006 when Dantonio coached here.

ECU AD Jon Gilbert top candidate for Tennessee AD position

"Jon Gilbert (East Carolina athletic director)
Gilbert has been the AD at East Carolina since December 2018 in what’s been his second stop since his stint at Tennessee. He initially left the Vols to be the athletic director at Southern Miss before departing for Greenville a year later. In his time with the Pirates he’s hired a football coach (Mike Houston from FCS power James Madison) and led sweeping renovations to football facilities, including East Carolina’s stadium. At Tennessee, Gilbert was an associate athletic director and one of Dave Hart’s top aides for more than five years and was heavily involved in the Vols’ basketball program. He previously worked with Hart at Alabama and thus has plenty of administrative experience in the SEC."

Joe Cauthen will not return as Houston’s defensive coordinator, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.

Cauthen was in his second season as the Cougars’ defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. He coordinated Arkansas State’s defense for five seasons prior to that.

To fill his coordinator role, sources said Dana Holgorsen will appoint Doug Belk to defensive coordinator. Belk is Houston’s associate head coach, co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach.

I thought he made two good hires in Houston and Dooley. They have yet to pay full dividends.

Little early for both to be judge and there have definitely been signs of improvement in both teams. Dooley is expecting a big year next year. Houston is probably another year away from being in that pay off mode.
