If you guys tear it up this coming season yall's coach moves up in the rankings quite a bit.

Sonny is #69 - what's wrong with that?

Sonny is a good coach and should be rank a bit higher, IMO

Sorry if this has already posted, but FBShedules.com posted a top 10 longest-awaited reunions in college football for 2020. Two of outs on the list:

Link: The 10 Longest-Awaited Reunions in College Football 2020

TULANE at NORTHWESTERN – Saturday, Sept. 12

Last played: 1956

U.S. President: Dwight D. Eisenhower

Tulane was still an SEC member when it played its home-and-home series vs. Northwestern in 1955/56 (it went independent in 1966). It won both games scoring a 21-0 shutout in New Orleans in 1955 (part of a 5-4-1 finish) and winning 20-13 in Evanston the next year (part of a 6-4 finish). For Northwestern, the first contest was played during Lou Saban’s one and only season as the Wildcats’ head coach (an 0-8-1 debacle) and the second during the first year of the Ara Parseghian era (a much improved 4-4-1 finish).

Tulane holds a 3-1 advantage in the series, Northwestern’s only win came in 1930, a 14-0 shutout in Evanston. The two are slated to meet again in New Orleans in 2025.

CINCINNATI at NEBRASKA – Saturday, Sept. 6

Last played: 1906

U.S. President: Theodore Roosevelt

The longest-awaited reunion in the FBS in 2020 is 114 years in the making. Nebraska shutout the Bearcats 41-0 in Lincoln, closing out a 6-4 campaign in what was its final year as an independent before joining the Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association the next season. For Cincinnati, the loss was a part of a 0-7-2 campaign.

The two are slated to meet again in 2025, this time in Cincinnati.

I'm really starting to worry that there is going to be a wide range of what universities are going to do and this "spike" is going to change what they have been planning. I just hope they make the right call....it's above my pay grade.

What dumba$$ medical staff signed off on a plan that allowed student-athletes to return to campus without testing each one of them upon arrival?

Based on the return plans I've been reading, I think most are and it's likely they did so. It's possible the students left campus (some students are still around so they may have went to an off campus party, made a corner store run, etc) and contracted it there

ECU taking the cautious route as safety and precautionary measures are at an all-time high. As ticket sales surge, ECU and Marshall are both dedicated to play the week 0 matchup to kick off the CFB season on Nat'l TV.

https://247sports.com/college/east-carol...148116344/

....Thirty-two ECU football players were tested on Tuesday and all tests have come back negative thus far...More players will trickle in throughout June and the hope is to have the full team back by early July. The coaching staff, meanwhile, has already completed game plans for the first portion of their schedule....

Nice job Memphis. I wish Tulsa could have got this done after seriously talking about it around 5 years ago. I would guess we're now a minimum of 3 years away from even thinking about building an IPF.

Nope, only Memphis is. If the whole conference was in the graphic would say "Power 6." 04-cheers

Jacob Springer from Navy is transferring to Ole Miss. Just curious does he still have a requirement to join the Navy after attending the academy for 2 years?

2019 was Springer's junior year actually.
A midshipman is locked into the commitment to the Navy upon attending the first academic class of fall semester of junior year. That's written as payback in $ or payback by going to the fleet for a two or three year period. And those are really treated on a case-by-case basis - if there were conduct issues, or even academic factors, the fleet may not want them; if there is a greater than zero chance he could pick up an NFL paycheck in a couple years, maybe we can identify a payment plan. Navy message board has some saying NO ONE actually goes to the fleet anymore, but I know at least one in the last few years.

I am unclear on whether the Ole Miss site is saying that after sitting out 2020 he would STILL have two years to play one.
Looks like he played five games as a plebe in 2017, so the 2021 season will still be his fifth year out of high school to play four years of eligibility.

I wish him well. Navy will miss him. He was PERFECT for Newberry's defense. We lost a rising sophmore safety to Wake Forest as well.

Weird seeing Navy guys "enter the transfer portal" overall (but a LOT weirder when he's already passed that commitment point).
