ECU only carries 15 sports as it is (we carry 18).

How many more are they looking to cut?

The Health Of College Athletics After COVID-19 Will Depend More On Akron And Miami (Ohio) Than LSU And Texas

As for Miami (Ohio) and other mid-majors, they’ll likely need major surgery, with the beeps from their vital signs monitor attached to more funding getting fainter by each positive test for COVID-19

Good read. This guy is definitely a homer, but Miami Ohio did some impressive things.

'Changes are here': Mid-major athletic programs, conferences at financial crossroads

“Schools are in panic mode right now,” Wilson said. “Their liabilities aren’t going to change, but their revenues will take a hit. They’re not taking it out on sports, but looking at it as, where do we have discretionary revenue where we can make cost cuts? Some of those are non-revenue sports, and it’s, ‘Here’s some areas where we may be able to cut.’ ”

Colleges outside the MAC and the Atlantic 10 are also making cuts that include dropping sports. In April, Cincinnati cut men’s soccer and Old Dominion cut wrestling. Also, many high-profile coaches, including Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim and Kansas football coach Les Miles, have taken pay cuts.

As of Friday afternoon, only one other conference had announced a modification to its championships in 2020-21. The Southern Conference, which includes East Tennessee State, Wofford and The Citadel, will reduce the number of teams qualifying for its conference championships to the top four regular-season teams in men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis, softball and baseball. The Southern Conference will also reduce its conference baseball series from three days to two and its men’s and women’s golf championships from three days to two.

Let’s wait to see what happens to the CAA before looking down on the SoCon. If there’s no football season this year the football schools in the league are screwed.

If there’s no football this year it’s because people are scared of the boogey man.

Multiple sources are confirming another death spike in Texas after quickly reopening. Call it whatever you’d like.

If students aren’t allowed back on campus by a certain point this August, the fall sports season is getting cancelled or significantly shortened. They’ll need to make decisions on that by June/early July. That’s just the reality of the situation.

And yet reports today say that states that have re-opened are seeing less spikes than states that are still closed. Explain that? You also can't look at solely infection rate. You need to look at rate per test. There are significantly more tests being performed now than even just 2, 3 weeks ago.

RE: MAC deals potential falling domino blow to Mid Major Conferences
Jimmy Bass, the AD of Elon, and the AD of CofC need to get all over the ADs of Davidson, Winthrop, UNCG, and Campbell and try to schedule as many games/matches in minor sports and both basketballs for 2020-2021. There's money to be saved playing schools close by and the teams can avoid germs by taking bus trips instead of flying.

Davidson has a new AD who is creative. Several conferences are discussing doing this for baseball. It could save soccer in the Fall for the Southern schools if the Northern campuses are conducting classes online.

The problem is that Tom freaking Yeager isn’t steering the ship folks. I think that “The Squier” needs to come back just to remind “you people “of his greatness sort of like what The Genius did for Mister Perfect back in the day during his feud with Hulk Hogan.
