Wasn't really much doubt anymore, but yesterday Pres. Bailey made it official. In-person classes and athletics will both return for the Fall semester at UTRGV.

Less than ideal start to all of this.

Curious, if other conferences decide to follow suit, what will that mean for the homeless Independent football programs in the WAC? They would likely schedule each other, I'm assuming. For example, could we perhaps see.......oh I don't know....Tarleton vs NMSU? And how would NMSU fund their athletic department with no BCS payouts? Things could get dicey.

I think itinerant has a point. If NMSU can’t fill the payout games, does it even make financial sense to play any games? I’d hate it, for sure, but from a business perspective, it may be the best thing.

GO AGGIES!!!

If NMSU doesn't play football what happens to there athletic department? Would Jans be forced to take a pay cut? Does NMSU cut sports and or cut coaches and Athletic Department personnel? I would imagine Mario will take some type of cut in pay if it means not rocking the boat too much. I think NMSU needs to keep playing sadly to keep things a float.

Well, NMs Gov just cancelled high school football and soccer for the year. She is urging UNM and NMSU to do the same.

Where did she urge NMSU and NuM? I saw her press conference and watched the news after. I never heard that.

During 13's sports last night, Derek Chester said, after reporting about high school sports, that she doesn't have the authority to cancel college sports, but was urging UNM and NMSU to do so for football and soccer.
