RE: CMU opening
I mean CMU has announced they PLAN to have in person classes. Planning and saying they are going to are two different things.

A comment I saw on Reddit regarding schools saying they plan to open remarked basically: Of course schools are going to say they plan to re-open. If they don't say that then students just plan on online classes and going to some place cheaper to have that experience.

RE: CMU opening
Freep reporter David Jesse: "INBOX: Add Eastern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State universities to list of colleges that will be open for in-person classes and students living on campus this fall."

About the only college system I've heard of not opening for regular classes is the California State system which is Fresno State, Long Beach State, San Jose State, etc.

Not to be confused with UC Berkley, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, etc. etc.

Really solid post, thanks. Planning in early May for a September opening is just a responsible action. There is nobody and I repeat NOBODY who knows what our situation will be four months from now.

Jerry, I would phrase it this way: "barring serious unforeseen events we plan to have in person classes this fall."
