Not unless the sports hiatus goes multiple years, I'd guess. Hockey has a sunk cost in the building that baseball and track and field doesn't as much.

It's possible. Kent St has an ice arena & used to skate a D1 program but cut it.

That being said, more likely move would be to the CCHA, but I think NCHC membership is a sunk cost - exit fees are crazy high.

I'd hate to cut it, but I think if the university wants to cut the budget in terms of sports, cut baseball & replace it with a (my guess) cheaper men's cross country

I read that the cut puts them below the number of sports they need to stay D1.

Wasn't sure where to post this. Was trying to find the thread where we were arguing about donating.

Most seasons I attend every home football game & several hockey & men's & women's basketball games, & only just graduated a few years ago, so I don't feel the need to donate. However b/c I haven't attended any games this season obviously, I think I'm gonna donate some, to the university in whole. I just hope they won't call me or mail me every month asking for a donation

BTW, does anyone know if the school's having in-person classes? Are students still living in dorms or did they evacuate everyone?

Right now classes are a hybrid of in-person and online learning. Lab use is restricted to small numbers. It's not ideal, but everyone is making the best of it. Students are living on campus, but will be sent home in April when everything moves online to close out the year.

Plans for the Fall, according to the President and Provost, are to open up in person and on campus as state restrictions allow. The current rate of vaccinations is a great sign that we'll be back to 'normal' soon.
