My daughter is a rising Junior in High School and has received several invites from schools to come tour the campus. Georgia State, App St, Coastal and USA in the Sun Belt have sent her promotional info and invites so far (but not Georgia Southern 01-lauramac201-lauramac201-lauramac2) so she is planning to visit a couple of these schools as soon as the virus issue has died down a bit. I may be asking some of you guys what to see and do in your city when we make those trips.

I don't think App sent my three daughters much in the way of promo material. Knowing the homes address housed two alums in mom and dad one could argue it was a waste of postage that could be spent on someone else. This might be GaSo admissions using their resources wisely.

Is she interested in GaSo? My oldest only wanted App State and my twins would only go there if they got a full ride, though they both honored the parents by applying and going through the motions and applying for scholarships. Neither twin went to App.

Yeah I kind of think with two alums as parents and us living in Statesboro Southern may be thinking there is no need or she is only a rising junior so it may be too early in the process. 13 other schools have contacted her so far which is kind of crazy to me anyway even though she’s an honor student she is still only a rising junior at this point. It's all okay I was just making a bit of a joke about it anyway.

She is a lifelong GS fan but she has dropped hints that she would like to go away for college so GS probably isn't in the cards for her. She wants to visit Coastal and USA and maybe App plus UGA so those are probably her top choices for now.

Since classes were also divided by gender - men learned agriculture and women learned homemaking skills - Sweetheart Circle was the only place for coed students to meet and mingle. The superstition today is that if you walk around the circle holding hands with your sweetheart, you're destined to be married.

My sweetheart and I walked around Sweetheart Circle and are still married 50+ years later, so there you go.

Same here and we are celebrating 25 years in November! 04-cheers

A little history. From bison wallow to current. One story from when I was still in school (can't confirm) was they thought it would be a great idea to have a mated pair of swans in the lake. After the first ones went missing they added a second pair who also went missing. I guess the 6'-8' alligators thought the idea of swans was a really good one as well.
