No. There are handicapped seating areas on all levels of this stadium. Not just at the top and end zones like Legion Field. At Protective, you will be able to enter the north end, which enters at the concourse level and get to multiple seating possibilities without ever negotiating a single stair step or the ramp system at the south end.

There are old people like me with limited mobility as well as disabled veterans / wounded warriors, people who have suffered strokes and heart problems and probably some others who can't climb long stairways like we had to at Legion Field (without hand rails).

Doubt escalators or elevators(unless you're in the boxed/suite area). Maybe they'll let the normal fan use the elevators to get to their 2nd or 3rd level seat on the upper home side(but I doubt that, too). Easiest way in looks to be the Northwest corner gate.

in other words, the Proteective Stadium is just a new smaller version of the 1900s style stadium we are leaving.

Correct. But it isn't going to be a problem, because those with disabilities aren't going to be allowed inside. They'll just have to read about the game in the Birmingham News Sunday edition.

Glad hand rails are all over the new stadium. That was the biggest complain I had at Lesion. Thrilled about how the stadium is coming together.

Great for 03-old fans!

But don't forget the increasing number of disabled veterans / wounded warriors who may want to attend local events. B'ham has two large VA hospital facilities on the Southside.

Dragons must have fire. I'm hoping for some serious pyro when we enter the field and endzone.

Looking good.

At the same time I'm wondering which side will be the Heat Stroke side?

On the sun report when it was announced, unless it’s an 11am kick, the pretty much the whole thing will be in full sun.

Nope. Where Legion Field has all the rest rooms and concessions under the the seating, Protective will be an open concourse like Regions Field. When you're in line for a hot dog, you'll still be able to see the field, and probably a TV monitor as well. It has wide open sightlines all over the place.

Is it too late to add a scoreboard on the other side of the stadium or one is enough?
