Where is the ACLU?
Much of this lockdown crap is unconstitutional- preventing free assembly, free exercise of religion, unequal treatment of religion, preventing the exercise of 2nd Amendment, and on and on.

https://www.justice.gov/crt/deprivation-...-color-law

These despots should be imprisoned in many cases and strung up in certain others.

RE: Where is the ACLU?
the judicial fallout from this 'should' be epic and overwhelming....

I said it when the 'police state' regime(s) began to implement all this bs....

the 'ambulance chasers' should be honing up and lickin' their chompers....

RE: Where is the ACLU?
Let me guess, you don't wear your seat belt, drive 100 MPH everywhere you go, drive the wrong way down one way streets, run stop signs, yell "Bomb!" and "Fire!" in large crowds, randomly shoot your gun in your front yard, dump your **** in the street, paint the rooms in your house with lead paint, install asbestos in your home, etc., because the big bad government will never tell you what to do?

Sadly, those in charge also have to protect the stupid people from themselves to.

Sadly, you’re confusing constitutional issues for non constitutional issues, with the exception of the free speech, shouting fire in a crowded theatre. Free speech limitations such as that are extremely narrowly tailored. What you prog filth Karen commies want to impose are arbitrary limitations on our constitutional rights because government or “experts” say so. These limitations are not limited and have not been argued in court.

The government derives its rights from the people, not vice versa. There are many of us willing to fight to prove that again some 245 years from the first time we had to.

The government has broad rights to protect the citizens in times of pandemics and other natural disasters. The ACLU can't, nor will they, do nothing here.

Some, like the Michigan governor, don't seem to understand that their powers may not be as broad as they think.
Also government derives it's power from the people. Hopefully the over reaction to this pandemic opens peoples eyes and they make sure some of these dictator wannabe governors don't have some of these options going forward. I would include Dewine in that as some of the orders coming out of Columbus have been as asinine as his democrat peers.

It won’t last long. Probably over before it gets going in the real sense. The progressives are gutless and they haven’t been able to pry the firearms from the people. That has to happen before they have that kind of bravery.

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. Japan, in a similar climactic zone and with a far more densely confined and congested population, did not impose such stringent rules and has had relatively minuscule spread of the CV-19. Statistics as of this morning, per million population:

USA: 3,672 cases, 212 deaths
Japan: 119 cases, 4 deaths

How? My answer is that if you walk down the street in Tokyo in normal times, probably 50-75% of the people are wearing face masks. Right now it's probably closer to 100%. Masks apparently work, even if they aren't full-blown N95 masks. All you need to do is slow down the transmission and you solve a lot of the problem.

Let's say one person can infect 10 others. In a week, that's 10, in two weeks 100, in three weeks 1,000. Now if he can only infect 2 others, in a week that's 2, in two week that's 4, in three weeks that's 8. Total prevention is nice, but partial prevention does a pretty good number on it.

Got anything other than your opinion to back that up? I'm more than happy to do me and live my life without relying on some tinpot dictator wannabe like you have up there in Michigan to keep me safe. But I understand that there are people out there like you that need government to keep them safe, fed, and ignorant.

But where are the people? Article covers a variety of topics including President Trump's rating in the poll (low).
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/real_c...prism.html

"...The Libertarian Party has its work cut out for it. Nearly nine out of 10 Americans support mandatory testing to ensure people are symptom-free before boarding an airplane (85% support, 13% oppose). Mandatory testing to ensure people are symptom-free before returning to work is an idea that attracted overwhelming support, too (84% support, 13% oppose). Likewise, requiring the use of masks while in public for those who live in cities and states where the virus is not under control (84% support, 13% oppose).

No proposals designed to stop the spread of the virus, it seems, is too intrusive. A majority (54%) even back the idea of the government using mobile phones to track movement so that those who come in contact with someone diagnosed with coronavirus “can be alerted” -- with only 39% opposed.

Irrespective of what they may view as Donald Trump’s imperial impulses, Democrats in this present crisis are more authoritarian than Republicans. When it comes to using cellphones Big Brother-style, Republicans are nearly evenly divided while registered Democrats favor it 2-1. Coronavirus, one might say, makes strange bedfellows. "

Some claim to be doing that. Nonetheless that isn't a legal argument.

Dude, this is not rocket science. Viruses spread from contact among people. Lessen the contact, lessen the spread.
