Seems like a really good guy. I trust that the UC medical team was as objective as possible, but perhaps another school's medics will see it differently. I wish him well and hope he has a great future with or without basketball.

Chad had hinted last year that he believed the UC medical staff would never allow him to suit up again.

He was never going to play here...I figured he’d leave the roster but stay on scholarship at UC due to the medical condition.

Yeah I’ll be surprised if any D1 staff allows him to play.

If no one picks him up I hope UC lets him finish school before he returns to Africa.

He will after graduation or if he cannot continue school here (in the US) in the fall. His Visa only certifies as long as he is an active, full-time student, as will all international students. He would also need to transition to an H1, gain a work permit (Green Card), or apply for OPT (Optional Practical Training) upon his graduation to remain in the states unless he has American citizenship.

Looks like Prince Toyambi got a thumbs up from Georgia Southern and even signed a NLI starting this season (2020-21). I wish him good health and much success!

Good for Prince. I don't know anything about Statesboro, but he'll be near Savannah, which is one of my favorite places I've ever been to. I hope he continues his academic success and gets to have a healthy, productive career. He was a little undersized for high-major basketball, but that will be less of an issue in the Sun Belt.

Good health is what he needs. It worries me that UC apparently was not going to clear him to play. I assume UC heart surgeons who did the work know his situation. BB does not need another Hank Gathers.

Seems like a fine young man. If he wants to stay here, I hope he's able to gain citizenship. Many of our African players over the years have been great students and ambassadors for the basketball program. I feel like I checked the UC athletics honor roll/dean's list (can't remember what it's called) a year or two ago and Diarra, Toyambi, and Nsoseme were the guys from the basketball team on it.

The government backed down on the immigration order when Harvard and MIT sued. Appears to no longer be an issue.
