Bill Murray
I just thought he deserves more than being buried in a thread about players in the NFL. He is now a member of the Patriots.

Murray was our best interior lineman in the last 10 years and maybe the last 35. Sean Lissamore made it to the League, but I'm not sure he was as good ad Bill with the Tribe.

You have to go back to John Cannon to get another comparable player. He was drafted in the third round by Tampa. They had very similar careers with the Tribe.

RE: Bill Murray
Bill had terrific speed and quickness for a big guy, especially his first six or seven steps...and he played hurt most of his senior year!

He has a chance to make it.

Lissemore is my pick with a caveat. Sean had budding professional players all around him...Webb, Caldwell, Couplin III, Tracy, etc. And, Trantin, Cook, Mines, Hyde, Stinnie, Stover, Robertson et al were phenomenal.

If I look at pure disruption, I'd have to go with Raheem Walker. Just a beast.

Murray's motor is crazy and he did an awful lot given his circumstances.

Saw that Murray had the 2nd most guarenteed money of the Patriots undrafted guys ($125k). Pretty nice deal and speaks to how much they valued him.

$10k signing bonus is a pretty good graduation salary

An undrafted free agent has made the Patriots’ initial roster 16 years in a row. Why Bill Murray is a top candidate to keep the streak alive. https://t.co/yqfWLXsjlr

Why Bill Murray (no, not that Bill Murray) has a real chance of cracking the Patriots' 53-man roster: https://t.co/EbAz6sb3tB https://t.co/K9I7WxH9n3

According to multiple reports, the Patriots released nine players to get down to 80 players ahead of training camp. The nine players were: safety Malik Gant, wide receiver Will Hastings, quarterback Brian Lewerke, safety Adarius Pickett, wide receiver Sean Riley, quarterback J’Mar Smith, linebacker Kyahva Tezino, defensive tackle Courtney Wallace and wide receiver Isaiah Zuber.

Good news - DT cut & not our guy.

This is a tough one.

Lissenmore played on a defensive line that was legitimately eight players deep. If I recall correctly, that group included Mike Stover, Harold Robertson, Tracy, CJ Herbert, Hyde, Ravi Pradhanang, and someone else I am forgetting. But he was also incredibly productive on his own.

I still think we win the national title if Robertson doesn't go down against Richmond (or stop a fake punt ...)

By the end of the 2009 season you could not expect a single o-lineman to cover Sean. He was doubled every play. As a result, Stover became dominant in the playoffs. Tracy as well. Not sure if Murray ever commanded that level of respect - but I could easily be wrong.

Another data point - Lissenmore was incredibly productive against UVA that year. Four of those UVA offensive linemen ended up playing in the NFL.

I still rank Sean ahead. But not by much.

I recall other fans from other teams at that time saying that Sean could not be blocked with one man. .

If he stays healthy I think bill is a lock to make the team. Versatile and fast enough to play all across their 3 man front.

Or field one of our own punts on the 1-yard line instead of having it go between the legs and into the end zone for a touchback ...

or not have an on the field call reversed after a 4+ minute "review" ....

or not have Nova score the go-ahead points on a "fifth" down .....

Still bitter? NAH

Evidently Bill Murray has been waived but is viewed as a good candidate for the practice squad.

In some less exciting news, Patriots practice squad DT Bill Murray has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

The poor man just can't catch a break can he? First all of his injuries, now having Covid? I have to give it to him for pushing through.
