Satirical post: If the coaching staff gets one more recruit this early, I'm calling the NCAA compliance office.

Nine commits in middle of May?! That's unheard of at Kent State.

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting
Picked up our 10th commitment today in Gage Michael, a dual threat QB from West Virginia. His list of offers isn’t impressive, but he did put up impressive stats at powerhouse Fairmont HS, with 1000-plus rushing and passing yards his junior year. He doesn’t have ideal size for a D1 QB, so it’ll be interesting to see what position he’s being recruited for.

Undersized QBs have never worked out at Kent State 03-wink

Fair point. That Edelman guy was pretty good. I don't know that an undersized QB works in this offense though.

Undersized Patrick Young was awesome, too, and would have had an incredible career had not that Akron player intentionally grabbed his facemask in the opening game of 1987. He was getting national attention until that incident. He came back the next year but was never the same.

Young also had a new coach (Dick Crum), who never connected with him.

We are sarcastically ignoring Josh Cribbs, aren’t we?

He was just a bit over 6’ if I remember. As a freshman, he was so skinny as well. I would see him on campus and couldn’t believe how small his legs were. Those legs could move though.

Had hope that after the Bowl victory we had turned the page on a new era after a conversation with a friend whose son is a scholarship my optimism is gone.
We can all have our opinions IF there will be football in the fall.
Fact there is only one MAC school that doesn't have their entire amount of scholarship football players on campus.
If you guessed Kent State you are correct.
So I guess the entire MAC is wrong and the enlightened leadership is correct at Kent State

Coach Lewis cancelled spring practices before the university shut down. My guess would be that he is the one keeping the players off campus. He has stressed putting life before football multiple times even before everything going on.

One KSU is losing. Sophomore linebacker Nick Curtis, who played in one game last season, is transferring to Auburn as a preferred walk-on. Alabama papers say he was a three-star recruit.

Late night commit, but actually an afternoon commit.

Picked up a DE from Australia.

Welcome aboard Jack Loew

Just saw a transfer commit coming from New Mexico. Nico Bolden, 6’3” 215 lbs. Safety.

Was thinking he was going to commit. I saw Kent offered him and checked his Twitter page and saw it looked like Kent was the lone FBS school to offer.

Gotta love the size though for a safety though

I think you’re right, other offers looked like all FCS. I thought it was weird considering his size, he actually played at NM and has 2 years of eligibility as a grad transfer.

No picks ... no sacks in two years albeit limited action??? Might be an OLB in waiting...

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting
Somewhat off topic, but is anyone else as bored as I am with the top of the college football pyramid? I mean, the way a handful of programs have practically cornered the market on recruiting? If I never see Alabama or Clemson or OSU again it will be too soon. You have those three, and to a slightly lesser extent Georgia and LSU (who had an off year) Even Notre Dame's last two games show that they are on the outside looking in. Oklahoma is a step behind. Texas A&M, too. Florida MAY climb back in, as may Auburn. But the trio of Clemson, Alabama and OSU have managed to become the super-elite. The cream of the cream.
