NM Governor Pushing Sympathy/Fear Porn To Keep State Locked Down

My condolences to the family, but this shameless exploitation for MLG's political agenda is unbelievable. She's getting desperate as she has been losing support.

NM's Latest #s.

Total positive cases 2,823

Negative test results 55,980

Reported recoveries 666

Reported deaths 104

I could probably do a video with the mother of the 21 year old that was found hanged on Saturday that my daughter worked with. He has been unemployed for over a month now without getting a dime just like everyone else my daughter worked with because they all helped open a new restaurant in early February after "voluntarily quitting" their previous jobs. Unemployment office said they hadn't made enough money at their last job and "quit" their previous jobs and their claims had to be investigated. There are literally millions of people like this. Oh, and also, that extra $600/week goes to the states to dole out. Not the worker. So people that ARE getting unemployment aren't getting that yet. But by all means let's keep everything closed another month and let the government control everything.

Day after these PSA's stat there is front page coverage of those who have passed to to the WuFlu: https://www.abqjournal.com/1448240/portr...-lost.html

Quote:SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is getting high marks for her handling of the coronavirus outbreak, a new poll has found.

Sixty-two percent of New Mexico voters surveyed recently by Public Policy Polling approved of the governor’s handling of the pandemic, while just 26% disapproved.

In contrast, the poll found just 40% of state voters surveyed approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak, while 55% expressed disapproval.

Among other steps, Lujan Grisham’s administration has ordered the closure of all businesses not deemed essential and issued a ban on large public gatherings in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus.

The state also has among the nation’s highest per capita testing capacity for COVID-19 and recently expanded testing to include some essential workers — including grocery store employees.

The poll was conducted by Public Policy Polling for The Majority Institute, a Democratic-leaning organization.

Public Policy Polling is a North Carolina-based firm that received a “B” rating from Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight blog.

The firm surveyed 1,009 New Mexico voters on April 20 and 21, with half the surveys conducted by calls to landlines and the other half done via text messages to cell phones.

At least the ABQ Journal was honest about who conducted the poll.

Quote:SANTA FE – An advisory commission to the governor on economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic is not subject to the state’s Open Meetings Act and its deliberations will be closed to the public, a spokesman under Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said.

Taxation and Revenue Department spokesman Charlie Moore said summaries will be provided of work by the so-called economic recovery council, which includes leaders from a range of businesses from a rural general store in Clayton to the San Francisco-based renewable energy developer Pattern Energy and New York-based mass media conglomerate NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast.

“We do not at this point plan on opening the group’s discussions to the public,” Moore said in an email Monday. “The Recovery Council is an advisory group only and for that reason not subject to Open Meetings Act requirements.”

Lujan Grisham said last week that she will consult with a council of business leaders as the administration develops a phased plan for possibly relaxing restrictions on nonessential businesses and social distancing directives. Meeting calendars and agendas were not available.

A bipartisan council of mayors also is being assembled to provide advice through the governor’s chief of staff, John Bingaman. It was unclear which mayors may participate.

Lujan Grisham has indicated that New Mexico will extend its public health order through May 15 in efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19, amid a surge in infections in the northwestern part of the state, including vast areas of the Navajo Nation. She has vowed to sanction businesses that flout restrictions on nonessential business.

The first-term Democratic governor has created advisory groups to advance a long list of policy initiatives, with mixed outcomes, since taking office in January 2019.

An advisory group developed recommendations on pension reforms that formed the basis of a solvency overhaul enacted this year. Reform recommendations from an advisory task force on legalizing recreational marijuana languished during the legislative session that concluded in February.

Wuhan Grisham was sent a letter from the GOP member of our state legislature back on Monday, about holding a special legislative session to address budget changes because of the pandemic. She has not acknowledged that she has received it. Democrats are also putting pressure on her to have a special legislative session. She's rebuking them as well. The budget goes into effect on July 1.

She is hoping that the Feds bail NM out, because she and Dems misspent all the surplus money we had last year from oil sales and dipped into rain day funds to pay for Free College tuition, climate change programs and heaps of other prog filth legislative crap programs.

Well enough pressure was put upon her to ease restrictions.

Quote:Lujan Grisham announced the state's public health orders in New Mexico would be extended through May 15 with some changes.

According to the governor, those changes going into effect on May 1 are:

Non-essential retail can operate via curbside pickup and delivery where permitted by their license
State parks to reopen on a modified day-use-only bases, as staff is available. Camping and visitor centers remain closed.
Pet services permitted to operate.
Veterinarians permitted to operate.
Golf course allowed to open for golf only, no dine-in food service or retail.
Gun stores can operate by appointment only for background checks.

The following businesses and services will remain closed under the governor's amended order:

Instruction to stay home remains in place for all residents.
Offices, workspaces and retailers to remain closed except for curbside and delivery services.
Dine-in restaurants and bars to remain closed except for curbside and delivery services.
Indoor malls, gyms, salons, theaters and casinos remain closed.
Mass gatherings remain prohibited.
14-day quarantine remains in place for out-of-state airport arrivals.

So, the Navajos who wanted to go to Gallup for groceries and supplies before the weekend curfew:

(1) wasted a whole bunch of time and gas money, because the Governor didn't bother to announce this ahead of time.

(2) perhaps didn't even get any groceries and supplies before the curfew started

(3) for those who did have time and warning, they just went to Farmington instead for groceries and supplies.

Net net: wasted time and money, some people who won't have food and supplies for an entire weekend, and nothing changes in terms of virus spread. Brilliant!

A couple weeks ago she was asked by local media if she was interested in being Biden's VP. She said she would do whatever she can to help Biden get elected.

Calling them "Democratic-leaning" is like calling Everclear "a slightly alcoholic beverage".

From the Link in the tweet above:
Quote:“If New Mexicans don’t behave safely, we won’t be able to reopen more than we have. Every single one of us has to do their part,” said Gov. Lujan Grisham.

She announced today NM will wait for a vaccine.
