If the covid-19 curve flattens out with summer heat, it is also projected that it could resume in the fall with the return of cold and flu season. Shutting down in mid-season would be worse than not starting up at all ... think of the massive blame game that would be played.

So ... 2021 is the best bet. I would say fall because it would be more "normal" and give teams the usual spring prep.

And even if sports do return, I may not. This morning, I talked to a co-worker who has COVID-19, as do her parents who live with her. I will spare you the description of what that family is going through - including isolation and hospitalization. You may not die, but you'll wish you were dead (unless you get a very mild case).

For the folks not taking this thing seriously, please re-think your position. As a financial person, I realize that the economy needs to get back to some sort of normalcy. But that doesn't mean you need to run out to every store, get together with lots of people, and party like hell.

I am very thankful for Gov. Pritzker. And I am a staunch Republican. Things may not be better even at June 1. But, no matter what, I plan on getting used to the inside of my home for quite awhile. I am high risk and will not leave my life to chance.

My employer is great and agrees that those of us who are in the high risk categories can work from home as long as is necessary. My boss and I are both high risk.
Well said Dog Fan I agree with all...now will you go back to the PB Grotto when it reopens?

Yes, that's different! Over 40 years ago, the Grotto was way ahead of its time and a leader in sterility. Guys may go in dirty, but they'd come out sterile.

My advice to new students is either take classes at JC or online. Two weeks in and they could shut brick and mortar. Plus, you dont want to be taking out loans going into an economic depression

And six feet of separation was pretty much standard anyway.
