RE: NFL draft
Whats's depressing is a school like Charlotte, who Buffalo smoked in the bowl game this past year, had three guys drafted.

Sometimes the draft is just odd. We have had players who seemed like late round locks, going unselected (like Anthony Johnson and Tyree). As well as players who were not team stars, but were selected (like Sokoli for his size and aggresiveness, and Josh Thomas for his speed).
Last season was a light Sr class and Ksiezarczyk was the only real draft chance. We beat up on the Charlotte's and Temple's and all their draft picks in part due to our higher draft potential underclassmen.

Florida International's James Morgan -- who transferred there after he lost the Bowling Green starting job to Jarrett Doege -- went in the fourth round to the New York Jets.
The Mike Jinks era was really something, let me tell you.
And then Doege transferred.
And then the NCAA ruled our next starter, Matt McDonald, ineligible for 2019.
We are righting this ship, but it has been a rough ride.
I’m still trying to figure out what the executives at BG actually saw in Jinks that said FBS head football coach??

The athletic director at the time, Chris Kingston, appears to have been very focused on continuing to run a fast, high-powered offense. Texas Tech was doing that in 2015 with its Air Raid offense, and Kingston seems to have zeroed in on an assistant there he could afford. At the time, Jinks did not have an agent and he had never in his life been to Ohio.
The hire was a terrible mistake. Jinks only lasted two-and-a-half years. By then, Kingston had already left for a job in sales at Learfield.
Athletic Director Bob Moosbrugger and his new head coach, Scot Loeffler, are cleaning up the mess. The future is bright. But this was an absolute disaster.

The game was closer than the score indicated. You won because you executed much better than we did. It doesn't take away from our draft. It doesn't take away from having 28 players in the NFL right now--the most outside of the P5 and ahead of many P5 programs. Hopefully you get a few drafted, as it's surprising you haven't had any drafted in a few years.
