All 2020 scheduling — as well as the completion of the stadium itself — is contingent upon the COVID-19 outbreak. The NCAA has canceled all spring sports and has not set any concrete plans for fall sports.

Second, UNLV has zero business playing in a big glitzy NFL stadium. Just play at Sam Boyd, it's a better venue for them.

I think his analogy to Tulane is apt. The novelty will have a short half-life. Then you're stuck with the reality of the small-time event of UNLV vs Louisiana Tech (or whoever) in a cavernous $3 Billion NFL palace.

Sam Boyd is a dump. It needed to be replaced. The move to Allegiant Stadium was a good move for UNLV. They had good recruiting class in football, which can be attributed to a new coach and a new stadium. Unfortunately, for some reason UNLV scheduled three non-conference home games this season. The Arizona State game should be played in Allegiant Stadium.

Some casual football fans in Vegas will go once to check out the new stadium. Unless UNLV offers huge single-game discounts on these ticket prices, those casual fans will only go once.

I would agree if UNLV were building a 30k on-campus stadium, but they aren’t. Plus, it’s Vegas so they need something over the top and gaudy.
