For us:
Lucious Jackson, and really the entire 1963 team, along with Coach Sam Williams.

Lonn Reisman- Over 650 wins as HBB coach
Danny Jones- All American Forward
David Stevens- All American Forward
The fourth would be difficult because we have had so many players go .... Tim Burnette, Chuck Guy, Cornell Jones are three on the top of my head that really stand out.

RE: Who is on your schools MBB Mt Rushmore regardless of level.
Okay... I'll play

#1 - Dr. Dave Brazell: While Dr. Brazell is most often associated with baseball at GCU (and rightfully so), the reality is he birthed and coached several different athletics teams at GCU over his long career. I put him on my Mt. Rushmore because he assembled and coached the 1958-59 MBB team that still stands as GCU's only undefeated National Championship team (all sports) in school history. He is also responsible for beginning the integration of GCU athletics by recruiting and signing my second choice...

#2 - T.C. Dean: Though he was already in the GCU Hall of Fame as a member of the enshrined 1958-59 MBB team, T.C. Dean was inducted as an individual earlier this year for being the University's first African American graduate, a record-setting basketball player and an Education graduate who became a teacher and administrator in Phoenix schools for 50 years. Mr. Dean is also still the #2 all-time rebounder in GCU history. Who is #1, you ask? See my #3 below...

I met Mr. Dean while out in the community back in 2017 and he saw I was wearing GCU gear. We had an incredible conversation and I learned so much about his life and playing basketball for GCU during those days. Mr. Dean is a true GCU treasure and trailblazer, and I believe wholeheartedly that his #13 should be retired and hung from the rafters in GCU Arena.

#3 - Bayard Forrest: Mr. Forrest still stands atop the GCU MBB record books as the all-time points and rebounds leader, scoring 2195 career points and snagging 1544 career rebounds. Forrest was part of GCU's first NAIA National Championship team in 1975, and was the first individual student-athlete inducted into the GCU Athletics Hall of Fame. Mr. Forrest's game was so nice, he was drafted not once, not twice, but THRICE:

- 3rd round pick (54th overall) by the Phoenix Suns in the 1975 NBA Draft (opted to return to GCU)
- 6th round pick (56th overall) by the San Antonio Spurs in the 1975 ABA Draft (opted to return to GCU)
- 2nd round pick (19th overall) by the Seattle Supersonics in the 1976 NBA Draft (opted for Athletes in Action ministry position)

After spending a year in ministry, Mr. Forrest did end up signing a free agent deal with the Phoenix Suns and backed up Alvin Adams on a team that made a run to the 1979 Western Conference Finals. Ironically for Forrest, that season ended at the hands of the Seattle Supersonics.

#4 - Joshua Braun: Braun finished his GCU career as the #2 all-time leading scorer, still nearly 500 points behind Bayard Forrest. There is probably a conversation to be had about Braun's injuries and apparent decline over his last season and a half of play, but we'll save that for another day. For now, in addition to being named to an all-conference team following each of his 4 years as a GCU player, Braun was named a two-time First Team Academic All-American. JB was a good dude with strong game for maybe 70% of his career, even if some Lopes fans will always be left to wonder "what if" with him. (My guess is every school has those guys, though.)

Lonn, and (pick 3 from) the 2014-2015 team. Best TEAM I ever saw come through Stephenville. Went 34-3, or something like that, got out-referee'd in the Final 4 game, Davene Carter nearly won the NCAA dunk contest, lots of national TV exposure, etc.. I really thought that was the year Lonn was finally gonna get his natty. It was a great year for Tarleton Basketball.

Eric Channing/Billy Keys
Randy Brown
Pascal Siakam
Lou Henson

Granted I grew up in Western NY, and attended NMSU in the mid 1990s. So earlier than that and my knowledge is not so great.

RE: Who is on your schools MBB Mt Rushmore regardless of level.
1. Lou Henson- He actually coached at Las Cruces High School and won many state championships, played guard for New Mexico State when it was still known as New Mexico A&M. He retired as the all-time leader in victories at the University of Illinois with 423 victories and New Mexico State with 289 victories. Overall Henson won 779 games, putting him in sixteenth place on the all-time list. Henson is also one of only four NCAA coaches to have amassed at least 200 total wins at two institutions. On February 17, 2015, Henson was selected as a member of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. In August 2015, prior to the reopening of the newly renovated State Farm Center at the University of Illinois, the hardwood floor was dedicated and renamed Lou Henson Court in his honor. The court at the Pan American Center at New Mexico State University is also named in his honor.

2. Sam Lacey-Final 4 starter, First Team All American. Lacey was drafted in the first round (fifth overall) of the 1970 NBA draft by the Cincinnati Royals. He played 13 seasons (1970–1983) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Royals, Kansas City Kings, New Jersey Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged over 10 rebounds per game in his first six seasons, and was the NBA's third leading rebounder in the 1974–75 season. Lacey's most productive NBA season came in 1973–74 when he averaged 14.2 points and 13.4 rebounds per game. He was named an All-Star in 1975, and finished the season averaging 11.5 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
Lacey is one of only five NBA players (along with Hakeem Olajuwon, Julius Erving, David Robinson and Ben Wallace) to have registered 100 blocks and 100 steals in six consecutive seasons. His #44 jersey was retired by the Sacramento Kings. He is also one of three NBA players (along with Wes Unseld and Reggie Evans) to total at least 30 rebounds and fewer than 10 points in the first two games of the season. When Lacey retired in 1983, he had accumulated 9,687 rebounds and a total of 10,303 points. As of 2014, Lacey ranks 40th overall for total rebounds in NBA history.

3. Super John Williamson -AVERAGED 29 points a game. Was the leading scorer in college basketball. Became an all star in the ABA and NBA career was successful, one of only 4 Nets to have his number retired

4. Pascal Siakam-WAC POY, 1st round draft pick, NBAG League Championship game MVP, NBA MIP, NBA All-star team 2019, starter on NBA championship team.

This was a tough one cause NMSU has had a long list of great players and coaches. Honorable mention: Jerry Hines is probably the god father of Aggie sports. He was an AD, coach of both football and basketball and a successful one. He was way before my time but I'm a hardcore Aggie fan so if you really know NMSU sports history Jerry Hines should probably be #1. George Knighton was a incredible player early 60s. Presley Askew was a successful basketball AND baseball coach and our baseball stadium is named after him. Like I said many many incredible Aggie legends.

Gleadley. I can't believe you have Josh Braun on your list. 1-3 is impressive but Josh Braun? I guess its your list but Dwayne Russell was 100 times better than Josh Braun.

Putting anyone from the D1-era was a reach for me, mostly because none of them have won anything of significance. I also considered including Paul Westphal, Horacio Llamas, or maybe a player from the 1988 NAIA National Championship team, but opted for at least one representative of the D1 era.

Braun had a great start to his career, while Russell was a lot more fun to watch toward the end of his. Neither is probably fully deserving of a "Mount Rushmore" status, but Braun has the better resume and accolades on paper. I'm honestly interested to see where other GCU fans land on this, too.

In my mind, Lou Henson and Sam Lacey are set in stone. However, there is an argument for Jimmy Collin, Eric Channing, and/or Slab Jones to be along side the aforementioned two. Collins, Channing, and Jones all sat atop the career scoring mark. Channing is the current all-time career scoring leader. All three completed their eligibility as Aggies. And, all have been to the NCAA Tournament but Collin played in the Final Four and was named to the All-Tournament team. I think John Williamson is one of the most talented (if not the most talented) to every wear an Aggie jersey. But he only played two season at NMSU and never guided an Aggie team to the NCAA Tournament. Siakam is kind of in the same boat. He left NMSU after two seasons. He went to one NCAA tournament but more as a complimentary player behind our senior cast... Mullings, Berry, Nephawe, and Eldridge. There is no doubt Siakam was the most talented big man to wear an Aggie Jersey but he didn't really fully blossom until after he left NMSU; besides, Menzies mismanaged Siakam's sophomore season and put a blemish on his Aggie career. Siakam fell short of getting to a second NCAA tournament despite having an impressive season statistically; Menzies failed to develop a supporting cast to help Siakam.

Like I said Pistol, hard to choice for Aggie fans cause they are so many great ones. You can throw in pretty much the starting five from the Final Four team. Add Charlie Cris to that list who also when on to have a very good NBA career. Sam Crawford was a special point guard who led the Aggies to a Sweet 16 and the following year a 1st round victory in the NCAA tournament. All-American James Anderson, Randy Brown, Reggie Jordan. NMSU is a special program.

I really thought that was the year Lonn was finally gonna get his natty. It was a great year for Tarleton Basketball.

What about W.J. Wisdom? 86 straight wins, and basketball plays in Wisdom Gym. For me it's Wisdom, Lonn, Davene Carter and pick one from 14-15 season.

RE: Who is on your schools MBB Mt Rushmore regardless of level.
I have a weird interest in Seattle U for some reason, so I put together what I could. They were stacked back in the day.

1. Elgin Baylor
2. Eddie Miles
3. Johnny O'Brien
4. Tom Workman
5. Clint Richardson

Hon. Mention: Keith Harrell, who was my favorite motivational speaker until he passed away.
