I can’t speak for other cities, but the homicide rate in Cincinnati is 3x what it was this time last year.

The homicide rate in Louisville hasn't increased, but the number of shootings have more than doubled since the outbreak began. A contributing factor was LMPD announcing they were no longer responding to certain types of calls to protect their personnel from COVID-19.

I had a co-worker shot earlier this year only a few hundred feet from where I work, in broad daylight minutes after his shift ended.

That's 13 murders in March, compared with an average of 4 in the past 3 years.

Probably because March was really warm this year. Murders go way down when temperatures get below freezing.
