Yep that is tiny to attempt to guard a skilled post player.

He will be an excellent help defender though...Hopefully his motor makes him a good rebounder as well.

I'm optimistic about this signing.

When I look at this kid I cant help but think about Brandon Clarke. I know he may not be as versatile but there are some similarities.

Clarke is 6'8" and 210 with hops. Not exactly a bruiser.

I read somewhere Rand has a 44" vertical and is a freak athlete for 6'8". I bet he weighs about 195 this upcoming season as he (like Keith Lee) has never had a great nutritional diet. That's about to change. His senior season he will probably be a very Brandon Clarke like 210lbs.

The fact that he led the nation is blocked shots for two consecutive seasons tells you he has a nose for the ball. 4+ bpg is pretty stout and will help us defensively.

If I'm Penny and staff I'm hoping this kid turns into our own version of BC. We need someone who likes to play around the goal, rebound, and dunk. You don't always have to be a banger inside if you can beat someone with your hustle and athleticism.

If we can land Nolly and Cisse with him, our class will actually look pretty good.

It will be interesting to track Rands development.

Wilson's was a reported 52 inch and DJ had a standing 40 inch and 46 inch running vertical at the NBA combine when he came out... the highest for both at the time.

I went to Memphis State back then and at the time he was by far the tallest human being I had ever seen. I'd say 6'10" with 3 inch fro 7'1 and rail thin. Keith was the very definition of lanky yet he had great basketball skills
