Women'hockey
The women's hockey started the season with a 5-0 win against Union. They were exciting to watch offensively and Frankel was great in goal. Being ranked fourth nationally is surprising because of how young they are. The first line has two sophs (Mueller and Arraurd) and a frosh and the second line has two more freshmen.

RE: Women'hockey
Just beat BC 3-0, and running away with Hockey East this season. #3 in the country and recently lost a heartbreaker to #1 Wisonsin in overtime.

With only 3 seniors in the team, next season could be even better. But they have to believe this season could still be special.

RE: Women'hockey
Pretty amazing that we've played BC three times this year and the result was three shutout wins. Twelve to zero total goals!

3rd ranked NU recorded their 4th straight shutout Friday night by beating UConn 3-0 at Matthews.

Since losing to #2 Wisconsin in OT Jan. 5th, they have not allowed a goal.

Goalie Aerin Frankel claimed her seventh shutout of the season and 16th overall.

They play a pair of games at UVM next weekend.

Women will play for the Hockey East title after a win vs. Maine today. We will play UConn in the finals, a team we swept in the regular season. Let's go!!

Really tough way to end the season. Arguably the best women's hockey team ever at NU, we were 3 games away from a national championship, in a tournament where we were one of the better teams and there was no "unbeatable" team like there are some years. Got to feel for the seniors.

You've got to imagine that next season will be even better with all the talent coming back. At least we can look forward to that.

I got nothing to add. You nailed it

One of our best chances to win a national championship is gone.

No Patty Kazmaier Award for Alina Mueller. The award goes to the junior from Clarkson.

Good news is Mueller has two more years to dominate college hockey and get one herself.

Next year's team has its six top scorers back, stud goalie Aerin Frankel and a nice recruiting class.

Should be another Top 5 team next season with another shot at a national title.

Arguably the best goalie in NU women's hockey history, Florence Schelling is really doing well for herself! She was probably the #1 goalie in the world during her peak, carrying Switzerland along to some impressive medal wins in her time. And now she's been named GM of SC Bern, a big time professional mens hockey program. Looking good!

I saw this last week.

Florence left the program in a really solid place. But Aerin Frankel may wind up being the best NU Women's goalie of all-time.
