RE: Open Thread- 2021 recruiting
Many people believe this will be the "year of the de-commit" as about three times as many (if I remember correctly) recruits are committed now compared to the prior year. With so little interaction between recruits and teams, kids are committing before even visiting campus in order to save a spot. Once (or if) the season starts up, things will get back to normal and everyone will reevaluate their decisions. Then they'll see how good their school really is. Sorry Tennessee and North Carolina!

RE: Open Thread- 2021 recruiting
GE and MTS, absolutely correct on the de-commit statement. Ohio State recently had this happen with a DB out of Cincinnati that is now with Alabama.

When I started this I knew de-commits would be a factor and I also knew that I wasn't going to address it. Too much work even though I follow it closely. I still feel that verbal (hard) commits stay true to their decisions at a fairly high rate. Like you said, though, 2020/21 is very unique, we shall see how that plays out.

Periodically I will update BIG schools with their average of player rating. My thoughts have always been that if you can stay above .85 on this and a good coaching staff is in place, that's a very successful class. Doing more with less, Doing less with more and doing more with more is not talked about enough.

Doing more with less examples.
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Washington
TCU
Boise State

Do less with more examples.
Michigan
Tennessee
USC

Do more with more examples.
Alabama
Clemson
Ohio State

These are the kinds of things that intrigue me with recruiting.

I rambled on again, I'm lonely, lol!
