Ummm. Reality happened. As often does with trump. He just spouts off the moronic idea as soon as it pops into his head and then deals with facts later.

Kind of like the Michigan governor except she considers it law.

And she's saving lives without caring whether it costs her job or not. You know, like a real leader does.

She's shooting for dictator not leader but you seem fine with that. Her laws are arbitrary and make no sense. You seem fine with that also. You seem to be one who would trade liberty for security. You do remember the quote from a founder on that don't you?

You can buy lottery tickets, pot or get an abortion though. Those are essential services, I guess.

Yea, what a hero. If you stroll to the edge of your yard and chat with your neighbor you can both be arrested.

Go to Walmart to buy some tomato or pepper seeds? No can do.

Wanna get out of an infected cesspool like Detroit and go to your remote bungalow you’ve worked all your life to acquire? Nope, potential jail time.

This! Right here, folks! Is what heroic leadership looks like to the left.

Seems there’s another name for this sort of thing, slipping my mind right now tho.

Trump is once again playing chess while the governors play checkers.

Once the Democrat government cabals make their plans public, a Republican state can then claim they are restricting the commerce of businesses in their state. Then it becomes an interstate commerce issue. Then Trump will waltz in.

Unless the plans are extremely accommodating, this is more likely to happen than not.

I actually think the Commerce Clause might bail him out if he ever felt the need to use it, since almost all U.S. commerce is across state lines, due to the supply chain.

But it would be a bad PR move if he did and deaths went way up. This is going to be such a jumbled mess I doubt he tries to club anybody. PR too risky before an election.

Smarter to let the decisions fall on the governors.

He's not letting anything. He basically has no power here, and someone with the actual facts must have pounded that into his orange face. Evidenced by is 180 yesterday. Further, the CEO's have even more power and will do what's right to protect their most valued resource, their employees and customers.

Go back and read the Commerce clause. For an "indy," you always see things one way when it comes to Trump.

It's not cut and dried.

Yeah...so, trump is in no way independent of anything. And as I've said on numerous occasions, my independence is only from political parties, not ideologies, of which the orange idiot and I share basically nothing.

And my comments are more to my last sentence. He has no power to tell my CEO to tell us to return to the office. He has no power to make the NFL hold their season, or make college football happen in late August. He can't make scared people go to malls or concerts or conventions or sit in restaurants and rub shoulders with people.

but if he has the power to open up interstate commerce, won't businesses most likely follow suit since it's in their interest?

Exactly what interstate commerce is shut down? It's not a tap you turn on and off. It's thousands and thousands of businesses (and states) working together that make the commerce happen. If a few key players are still shut down to make things safe for their employees and customers, you will still see drastic effects.

Of course, none of which is what is being considered, proposed, or even contemplated by people with more than two functioning brain cells.

He, nor anyone, could tell a free people to go to the mall or a football game prior, Who is suggesting they can now?

C’mon
