Who really should have acted a whole lot quicker are CDC and FDA. And as for the vaunted "pandemic team" that wrote the vaunted "road map" or "game plan," they didn't do anything to address the fact that in our system there is nobody ready to step up and be boots on the ground doing things from day one, nor did they do anything to address the shortage of masks and other PPE that was known about for 9 years.

Trump's two best moves were the China travel ban (which democrats opposed and called "xenophobic" which is just a fancy word for "racist") and taking things away from CDC and FDA and getting state, local, and private actors more heavily involved (despite the "leave it to the professionals" comments, it was those professionals who screwed the pooch).

The House? WTF are you talking about? The House does lead the response to a national crisis. They appropriate funding, but the strategic reaction comes from the Exec. Branch.

As for what could have been done in February...
The obvious answer is developing testing and reporting procedures... and working with states to develop some semblance of standardization. Empowering the CDC to begin working with hospitals and healthcare providers... Preparing the American people of what could happen... who is at risk... and the possibility of mitigation.

First off, the House is controlled by the Democrats and they were NOT raising the alarm either. They get these reports and made the same conclusions as Trump did that this wasn't going to be as major as it was. From the reports around that time, the CDC and the NIH were working on getting a test procedure done but they botched it. Fortunately, they were able to go to the private sector and it was developed more efficiently than the government. That being said, if a Dem was in office he/she would have not done any better. All you are doing is armchair quarterbacking... Sad.

Nice to see you mention the actual root cause of this entire mess - China's lack of transparency. Do you believe the ultimate blame is with China??? Will you answer this question???

My cousin married a man who's father abused him as a child and then abandoned him as a teen. When he started getting serious with my cousin, her parents took him in, got him on his feet, and now he's doing well for himself working as a carpenter.

When they got married, he took her last name rather than keep his. His feeling was that he wanted nothing to do with the last name of the father that beat and abandoned him and felt more of a connection to his wife's family. Who knows the motivation of this Jason Kolsevich guy, but IMO it's no one's business.

What you are suggesting is a response determined by a plan set in motion before the reality of a pandemic occurred. You know it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't repeat exactly the propaganda line of the MSM every time they posted. And at least a couple of them sometimes release a post with the theme of the day even before the MSM come out with it by the morning news. Hmmm.....
