RE: Mason Fine
I just wanted to respond to go on record that Mason Fine will not be drafted and will not play a single snap in an NFL game. Above average CUSA level QB but nowhere near NFL level.

I hope he proves me wrong.

Mason Fine could be the next Doug Flutie, or he could be the next Russell Wilson. Who knows? But it sure looks like the Saints are investing a little time in him. They might take him with their last pick.
Well, the "azz clown" is the only one that gave Fine a scholarship. But I have to agree with you that Mason took punishment that could have been avoided if Littrell had done the right thing and given Fine some rest. And recruiting quality offensive linemen would have helped too.

RE: Mason Fine
I would have liked Fine over Stevens, but I guess it really doesn't matter as the Saints are signing Winston to be the backup.

I thought there was a chance we would sign Fine since he worked out with Drew but I have to think signing Stevens and Winston makes that unlikely. Stevens is going to be worked into the Taysom Hill role. He played some WR and RB at Penn State and was an all-state DB in high school. And Saints coaches asked him to send them video of him running routes.

Yeah, I don't think Stevens was drafted to be a traditional QB either. I hope Winston works out for us. Maybe Payton can fix him.

Even if Jameis just waits for the QB market to improve next year we could get a 2022 3rd round comp pick if he signs with another team next year. Taysom just signed an extension with enough new money in it to justify him being the starting QB in 2021.

I don't see Taysom Hill ever being the starting QB for anyone at the beginning of their season. Dude just isn't a QB. That is why I hope Jameis can be fixed.

Well they just gave him essentially 16 million for 2021 which is in line with what the Colts gave Jacoby Brissett last year after Luck retired... so I have to think they’re giving him a shot and I don’t think there will be money to sign Jameis to anything substantial in 2021.

Yeah, a real head-scratcher for a guy that has thrown 15 NFL passes and wasn't a great passer in college. I guess they think his swiss army knife abilities are worth the money?

They could’ve had him for 4.6 mil for this year. They added 16 mil for next year for him to be the starter.

Hill was a BAD passer in college.

That’s the thing I don’t think people get. He was flat out bad at throwing the ball at BYU.

To think that he can become a decent NFL QB at age 32 after not taking a meaningful snap in 5 years is crazy, to me.

Wow. 5-9 3/4 won't get you on a roster. Canada sounds good.

I bet the Saints go after Rodgers to replace Brees next year.
