Not sure I follow what you're directing towards. The possibility of Precious being a lotto? Jalen coming to Memphis?

But I do agree that his draft stock might not be higher than now but who knows what will happen when with this pandemic.

It matters in draft talk. No matter what we think or if there is some history of older than normal class age prospects succeeding. One reason Brandon Clarke fell to the Grizzlies. 23 year old junior.

and DeAndre Hunter is 6-8 220 lbs, left UVA as a soph, drafted 4th and is a 22 year old rookie. didn't hurt him LOL My point is there is no absolute on what teams want. It's case by case depending on the player.

To simplify this to the folks who clearly misrepresented what I said, I never said he should stay. My point is who knows what might happen given the times we are in and what a player's motivation to stay or go are. That's it.

Ah. I only saw a couple entertaining that thought. And I think they will admit it's a dream.

Personally - as a fan - I want him to go to the draft. He's going to get drafted high, and he deserves it. It's a good reflection on the program. And it would be too risky for him to return, so much that I would be stressed every time he went to the ground.

Yes, with the Wiseman debacle we really need to Precious to enter the draft and be taken highly. It will look very good for Penny on the recruiting trail!

Wiseman getting drafted high still counts for Penny despite the craziness surrounding him.

Heck no, the 2021 draft is big guard and wing loaded. Some of the top guys like Okowundu and Halliburton might not even be lottery in next years depth.

Also, what matters most is what type of things he improves at. If he just goes out next year and is more productive doing the same stuff (tip ins, rebounding, dunking) and shows marginal improvement in his handles/shot (more of his real NBA future role) AND the fact that he is a little older... it will lead to more doubts about his NBA fit.

He needs to cash in now and not think twice.

Agreed...Way too much risk if you have guarantees that you are going in the first round to come back. Especially a tweener like Precious.

But I love the fact he is still engaging with Memphis fans. Just because a plyaer is one and done doesn't mean the player is a mercenary...Kevin Durant is a good example. Hopefully he stays engaged in Memphis after he goes pro.

KD is a pretty big UT supporter - used to return to campus fairly regularly in his younger days and has given millions. Not a good example.

Kd is my example of a 1 and done that is not a mercenary.

Got it. Apologies, misread on my part

I hope he stays 4 years----and then becomes a NBA billionaire

The People And Their Blue Colored Glasses quote is silly. Literally every single person I know whose a Memphis fan knows he’s likely gone. I didn’t see but one maybe two people on here that implied that. Folks always wanna stir stuff up.

Not really. The perception is he could sit the entire year and still be a top 5 pick, oh wait, that’s what he did... Penny will get no credit for Wiseman being a top 5 pick. Precious though, Penny and his system will get every bit of praise for showcasing Precious’ abilities.

I know for a fact he is interviewing sports agencies. Looking for the best deal for him and his family. I am fairly certain that he will not be back. Penny would be doing him a disservice to allow him back. He has nothing else to prove at the college level. His body is developed enough for the NBA and he will get even stronger with their programs.

Go for the $$$$ Precious!

Not only physically ready but mentally ready as well. Good luck in the draft Precious! You have been a pleasure to watch.

No, it is Friday the 17th. I believe it was originally announced as Thursday the 16th but then got corrected to the 17th pretty quickly.

24/7 doesn't show Precious going in the first round. Maybe he is waiting until he gets a commitment from a team to take him. Only first round money is guaranteed.

That’s the only mock draft I’ve seen without him in the first. I’ve seen him as high as 8 in some mocks and as low as 27 in others.
