RE: Without looking: 3-part question
Very close. Milan is correct. The year is 1954. Bobby Plump was the shooter.

I barely remember attending games in the old Magazine gym (two before the current one). Back then, of course, it was all Class B, no football, teams started basketball practice as soon as school started, and the team was the only thing going in those little towns. Seats in the gyms were right on the court, and the noise level could be deafening. ARCH rivalries.

Milan, 1952, Bobby Plump, who is still a living legend. Not positive about the year. That’s when I was born and when Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne.

Trivia fact: On the team (Crispus Attucks) that lost to Milan in that famous game was a sophomore named Oscar Robertson, who had a pretty fair career. The next two years Attucks went 62-1 and won back-to-back titles.

That is a pretty "cool" trivia fact. Didn't know that.

RE: Without looking: 3-part question
One of Oscar's teammates on those Attucks teams is the security guard at the U of Nebraska arena, and it was my privilege to get to visit with him a couple of years ago, purely by happenstance. He was a two-time All Big Eight player and in the Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame.
