RE: season ticket deadline
This was in today's HAF news:

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET PAYMENTS

We are beginning to receive calls inquiring about what will happen to a season ticket members’
payment should the season be modified, postponed or cancelled.

Below are the options that will be provided to each season ticket member should the situation arise.

OPTION 1 – DONATION

The money from a modified/cancelled season remains with Athletics as a donation and goes to offset
the extensive departmental expenses associated with COVID-19 (approximately $3M). This includes
a significant reduction in our NCAA disbursement, university budget cuts and decrease in student
fees.

INCENTIVE: If you make a donation this year and next year, we will upgrade your donor benefits
by one HAF membership level in year two (2).

OPTION 2 – ROLLOVER

The money from a modified/cancelled season remains with Athletics and will be used as a credit for
the 2021 football season.

OPTION 3 – REFUND

Request for a refund of their football season tickets. (A conversation with NIU representative should
take place prior to full or partial refund).

I love NIU, but given what's happening I have doubts the whole university will ever return let alone the athletic program. Hate to think like this but I dont think a payment to NIU right now for tickets or donation goes to any place you would hope it goes. The gig is up.

Donators

RE: season ticket deadline
I would gladly accept Option 2 - rollover to 2021.

They will have a little extra work with Option 1. The Foundation has sent the letters indicating the amount donated and the deductible portion. The portion used to secure select seating is not deductible for tax purposes (such as the donation to get chairback and benchback seating). Under Option 1, all the money paid that goes through the Foundation would now all be deductible, as this would become a full donation. They would therefore need to re-issue the letters showing 100% deductibility.

Thanks for posting Golf. Seems like a reasonable plan. An option for everyone.

Except for MD. He's convinced they're going to shutter the entire university.

The way that Option 3 is worded....I would not expect a refund. Red flags include "partial or full" , "request", "should take place"
